Accountability Friends! :)

@Ms Spock and I were chatting and her positive attitude was amazing, her realizations were great.

We thought it would be a good idea to start a thread where each day we can make a post about how we're working on our ptsd or managing it that day.

Having friends to keep us accountable for continuously trying our best to heal or manage could really be helpful. As we all like to be there for each other, why not, we're in the same boat!

So how'd you kick PTSD's butt today?

Yay you and Ms. Spock!

Someone was making racist remarks today. Instead of dissociating, I spoke up. (I've been working on staying present when people are unkind, lie, deny reality, attack others, etc.) I made mince meat of her comments in a friendly articulate way while simultaneously being shocked I could speak instead of freeze. Hooray!

:bag: (This character means I'm embarrassed to share, and I will, since I trust y'all.) I'm working on touching certain things ( i.e. anything that has hidden contents-computers, emails, letters) and anything where I need to extend my arms ( i.e. doing dishes, picking up/cleaning around the apt.,etc.). So today I used the ATM! (And lived to tell the tale.)

Great idea for a thread!

Yesterday, I decided to start making a list of my "feel good triggers", which are things that help me focus, or help my mood etc...As I've been paying attention to how I feel in certain situations, I can see more clearly, the things that lower my mood, and the things that help. So I have my triggers that I can try to avoid (where possible) and also a list of things that make me feed good, that I can go towards.

I am studying tonight for my drivers exam Tuesday. I haven't had a license for 30 years. It was stolen. I am nervous to take the driver's driving test, but I am going to go for it. Screw the nerves! I loved driving long ago. I'm dying to drive again. Saw no point to doing anything positive for me for years. Now I do.
