Airport Security And Nfl Pat Downs

So, having so many representatives from other parts of the world I wanted to solicit some opinions on the security measures taken here in the US. Particularly in relation to the 4th Amendment.

In the US, we seem to get two groups. One who argue that it is for our safety, so is completely legitimate and the other group who says that it is against our Constitutional rights so is abuse by the government.

Any thoughts?

Yes I have. A year or so ago, I was involved in a major exercise at China Lake. I flew into LAX twice that summer on a diplomatic visa.
Both times I was sent for 'secondary inspection' by a uniformed tw*t with a very poor grasp of English, be it UK or American.
Second time round, the regular guy in charge of the blue latex glove zone had the decency to 'oh Jeez, not again'.

Razorback, I do not think the problem is in the intention, more the execution. It's an excuse for every 'uniformed' jobsworth insect authority to exceed their remit by several careers. Poorly implemented and as a result there's little respect for it.
A typical f*ck-up. It has mutated into these idiots being 'seen to be doing something' instead of any semblance of an effective counter-measure.

That's my opinion.
