alone & need to find friends - in small community

i live on a small island, no family, no friends, it is hard being alone all the time, there are 9500 other people on this island, but I am all alone. i really need to find some friends

I understand as I have experienced the same thing. For me I have made a conscious effort at being more outgoing and social. I started by just talking to strangers like the cashiers in stores. I have gotten better but I also have learned to appreciate my solitude. I am in a long distance relationship which I think gives me the perfect balance. I rarely feel lonely anymore.

Welcome to this safe place. I have been isolated from society for 25 years due to illness and disability. I have pretty much lived in my home for the most part caring for my adult autistic child. My primary access to people has been virtual. Covid actually opened the world to me by creating online opportunities to connect with people. I have found community with safe people here. Everyone gets trauma here. We encourage, share and support one another. I hope you feel comfortable and safe here to be you. Looking forward to hearing more from you.
