Anti-adblocker Now Installed

Wow I am oblivious. I only just noticed earlier this morning that premium is even a thing. That being said I am primarily on the forum from my mobile so don't see any antiad stuff. Or maybe I just don't notice them.

Am I the only one whose adverts are primarily books about PTSD? I kind of thought that was part of the site...

I shall have to ask the Mr about going premium.

must be some government pop up blocker installed in my work computer that I don't know about because I turned off the pop up blocker on the internet explorer and the google chrome browser and still get the annoying pop up when any page loads on both browsers. I well I guess I will just have to click after each page loads to get ride of the pop up

Wasn't just you @Radise... all is good, I simply put this out there to shut down further issues being sent to me.

Hats off to you Anthony, I would love to shut down further issues being sent to me. Not just the old crap that keeps invading every moment, wake to issues, sleep and not through issues, and new ones too.

why did you turn off the pop-up blocker if you don't want pop-ups?
See Anthony's comment #1. You can disable the anti - ad blocker in your browser - but that would still mean you need your adblocker enabled.

I am not trying to undermine what Anthony is doing and can see the importance of adverts, however he has given you the solution options in his OP.

@Lucycat I think you mis-understood. The anti-advert blocker, is a line of computer code of third party programme, running from the server this site running on. If you are using ad-block when visiting this site, the anti-advert should detect that, then open an irritating pop-up window informing you that you are using an ad-block, that every time you click a link from this website. A new annoying pop-up will appear, until you disable the ad-block in your browser, to allow the adverts on this site to show.

pop up blocker

Popup blocker is to stop popup advertisements... it will have no affect here to the popup error message, as the popup is returned to the browser as an error message, not an advert.

The only way to stop the popup here is to disable any anti-ad program you have running in your browser that stops you viewing ads or become a premium member, which disables ads thus it isn't applicable to premium members.

Thank you. You're quite right I totally misunderstood. I thought the presumption was that nobody would bother to disable the new feature but it was an option.

I disabled my ad blocker, re booted and got both adverts and the message to disable my disabled ad blocker.

@Anarchy, are you using Firefox by any chance? If so, I have the fix to that today for installation.

Also, you may have to clear your cookie for this site if you were using an adblock, as that cookie will also contain the adblock and thus causing you your issue. Possibly your cache as well...

I am using it, or at least Debian's de branded version, "Ice Weasel".

I also use privacy badger plugin, which is blocking trackers from accounts google, apis google and plus google, when I'm on here. I'll let you know if I still get the alerts after you install the fix.

I have installed the fix. You will likely need to drop the cache and cookies, for a full reset of your browser.

Cookies don't survive for long around here, they're either blocked, self destruct, or get munched by the badger:

it's amazing to see how the prices of things like fares come down when there are no cookies and trackers telling the sites which prices I've been shown before.

Completely OT, did you read about Lenovo getting caught shipping their computers with ad targeting spyware on them?

Update; the message is gone, even without exiting the browser.
