Anyone Else In Denial? Avoiding Ptsd

I have had PTSD for 20 years now it is something that we deny and try to get back to normal, then just as we feel better it raises its head as if its telling us"i am not going away yet"yet meaning until we accept the things that made it appear in the first place, acceptance makes it a little better to cope with that way i feel i am in control of it rather that it in control of me,it by the way is PTSD.

Good point blue-Ocean. Acceptance is key. But getting there is a whole other story.

I am in the process of waking up to a illusion I thought was real. Denial again. But waking up. Ouch!!!

With PTSD, we have extra effort that we have to exert to do normal things. For me, it's finding a reason to want to live despite having gone what I've gone through (losing both of my parents). I tend to have the "what's the point" mentality because at the end of the day, it ended up being a tragedy. We have to find a way to understand what has happened to us be able regain vest for life despite what happened. People that don't understand probably haven't been seriously tested. PTSD sufferers are the ones that are seriously tested. That is a category within itself. That means you can only get stronger.

Acceptance is not the issue for me. I have made my peace. What is the issue is the neverending low grade depression that has dogged me since the initial trauma. Also the anxiety, panic and isolation that have become my normal.
