I'm really sorry to hear about your health problems. I can certainly understand your frustration with your situation and your physicians. Doctors mean well but can be very dismissive of their patient's concerns. They forget that you're the one with millions of nerves giving you information about the problem 24/7, under every possible condition. You know how diet, sleep, mood, and many other factors affect your disease. I hope you can find a physician who listens to your input and works with you to solve the problem.
I am glad to hear that you have a boyfriend and two dogs for love and support. I'd like to hear how your surgery consult goes on Tuesday, and I'm certainly willing to listen if you feel like you need to talk.
I'm also suffering from a chronic illness. At the age of 20 I developed a rare neuromuscular disorder that mimics Crohn's disease. I go to the bathroom 10-20 times/day and get painful cramps that leave me shaking & sweating. After getting sick I managed to finish college, continue working full-time from home, and buy a house. But I've also been housebound and completely alone for 6 years. The illness and isolation are causing recurring nightmares that I can only guess are PTSD. The good news is I'm getting a colostomy in July which should end this nightmare and give me my life back. I can't wait.
