I've just started drawing again. It's been 30 years. These are my first 3 attempts. The dolphin is a compilation of 3 photos I took in Vancouver BC recently, the other 2 are of two of my granddaughters and Titus (or dog we just put this last Thursday). I've never tried drawing people before so this is waaay new LOL!

I have resisted art therapy because of the connections it has with my exhusband. I have a small kit sitting right now and collecting dust. I am trying to consider doing a "self portrait" and also a "scape goat" exercise (all of the lables I put on myself).

Lam - These are awesome! Keep at it the more you practice...... Your portaits......for your first attempt are great! Drawing people is hard. I know with your talent nothing will stand in your way.

LOL... my present mediums are cooking, jewelry making, and flower arranging (for gifts). I want a very clear and lucid moment where I can focus "who I am", it just hasn't happened yet.

Wow, what talent in this thread!

Albatross - have you considered like a Dorian Gray kind of self portrait? Where you can poor all the ick into it and get it out of you?

Also re: using blood - not really a great medium, I would use paint in the shade of blood instead. Blood tends to turn brown and then flake off. Just sayin'.

:D Heather. I took the photo when we were baking cookies. Hailey was rolling a ball of dough in her hands. My Dad is an artist. He told me yesterday that the hands are the hardest part of the human body to draw so that is a HUGE compliment Heather....THANKS! You have encouraged me to follow my dream this last couple of weeks. Thank you for that, it makes me want to cry cause I feel passion again for the first time in a decade! Seriously Heather....thank you sooo very much. :inlove:
