The doodles and random artwork are some of the most interesting art in terms of thought activity and composition IMO. I've been looking at the DADA artists regarding randomness and some of artwork here totally reminds me of Paul Klee

I may not be able to say pretty doll outfit in public.( I do think Kachina are pretty cool though):eek: My mom was making doll underwear the other night and I'm asking if doll's need underwear so I hope you get the picture. Its like a running joke with us. Dolls and teddy bears etc.

When I was little my mom was very confused that I was not a little girl and did not have an interest in doll collecting, women's fashion design and sewing but after being taught some of these skill sets , I can totally appreciate them as creative arts now.:roflmao:(I have issues LOL hyper masculine)

I had to sew in the military in the field when my britches would rip and duct tape was not an option. So us males do appreciate the lessons. Art is helping me be able to talk to my Mom about some tough stuff since she was my art teacher before I lost interest after I didn't feel that the arts were going to help defend myself at school.

Tried a couple different things for the first time.

Photoshop and mac's are a lot of fun. Would have never tried this stuff on my PC. Thing made me crazy working on blueprints. There are super cool videos of bird species on youtube like the blue roller for modeling. I am enjoying seeing many African birds for the first time. P1010021.webp
Working on ocean things this week. Using art to dare myself to go out and interact.

Thank you! You've made me think about my interest in surrealism and how they drew on strangeness in nature - like deep sea creatures and microscopic organisms. I really love surrealism, and have often thought I'd like to find out more about Dadaism.

With you on the doodles and randomness, too. I'm fascinated by Frida Kahlo's paint blotches, which she used as a starting point on the page.

I like your Bird of Paradise plant picture very much.

Struggling a bit at the moment, but I really love art and it was good to see/read what you posted. :)

Hi Hashi,

That makes me feel great that you started thinking about Surrealism. :D I was trying to figure out in what style to draw flowers for my friend, who is a florist, and chose Julie Collins watercolor style to emulate. I think looking at Gaugain's blue trees made me want to make the flowers more colorful than they really are.

After painting flowers you look at them in different ways and concentrate on their form and construction. How the heck does that thing work? What are those for? I dig the close ups the Kew gardens have in their series of plant books on Pollen and Fruit. Every plant is amazing in its structure and color when you look at it closely. Every batch of weeds now has potential art projects.

I've been interested in Frida Kahlo thanks for the motivation. I just looked at one of her portraits with the caterpillars very cool. I've tried the ink splash for Ralph Steadman type drawings and it was pretty cathartic to throw ink and then draw something around the splashes.

When I can't concentrate and need to burn energy I have been drawing several random objects and then shading them into different forms that have some relation to me. I've found that the red hue from my woodless pencil was easier on the eyes and doesn't make such a mess. Thanks for all encouragement Hashi. Its making me forget about my headaches.
