) By the way, what kind of flowers are they?

I'm not sure. I've tried to find out, but no success. I don't want to disturb them to get a plant for my front yard. Next time I go to a nursery, I'll take a pic and see if I can get it identified and buy one.

I want to say it's a fall blooming crocus, but it doesn't match any pictures I can find. All of the fall blooming crocus's I've found don't have vegetation in the fall. they grow their foliage in the spring, then the foliage dies back in the summer, then send up only a bloom in the fall.

Here is a closeup from a different angle and day.

A small piece of plant that found the energy to bloom. The entire plant was only about 4 leaves which you can see on the other side of the bloom. the bloom is less than 1/2 inch across. It was in my mother-in-laws yard.

This is why I try to take my camera every where I go. I try to find beauty wherever I can. This flower was barely noticeable as I walked past it. Because I TRY to look for something beautiful as I'm out and about, because I TRY to look at the world as a photographer would, always looking for something of beauty or interest, I saw this tiny, little flower in the leaf debris.

My camera is one of my main therapy tools I use to find meaning in living.

I was sitting in my truck while my wife shopped. Across the street I saw this crape myrtle against a blue building. The contrast was very beautiful to me, I had to get a picture of it. Luckily for the art of photography, cropping can do miracles to take out some ugly parts of the image.
