OK, I have a thing for trees, here's one of mine:

This old live oak tree is in Florida USA and the gray stuff hanging on it is called Spanish Moss.

This is a painting I did with a friend of mine, we were just goofing around one day and I did the background and main features of this, also some of the flowers. Then he added some clouds to the sky and some more flowers:

This smaller image of it does it more justice, the larger one is not in focus. It is an oil painting on wood.

@SheilaKathy Beautiful both pieces! Love Spanish Moss and oil on wood is so rich. Love the three point perspective, and the inviting concave allure of the forest! The flowers and depth of colors are alive and vibrant yet offer sanctuary.

No this one is Parfin based as soy wax is uber expensive and that one is big. At least I think it is.:confused:

I thought maybe it would be fun to share pictures of our hobbies with each other. Like paintings, illustrations, photographs, collages, models, clothing you made, embroidery... anything you made that you are really proud of and would like to show the others here.

A hobby of mine which I discovered last year is building scale models. As a kid I was always very much into Lego, but I don't have any Lego anymore, and model building is a lot like it. After I made a Spitfire last year, I was totally hooked, and wanted to make a glider too.

The glider I am learning in, however, was out of production. So I looked on eBay and found a dude who still had one, he sold it to me, and he became the first friend I ever made on eBay. For Christmas, he sent me two more gliders to build which I am building now. Here's a pic of the Spitfire and the ASK21 he sold me:

A pic I took on Dec 15th on my way to an appointment. It was the day after a big storm cleaned the atmosphere. Often these mtn's (The Sierra Mtns) aren't very visible most of the year, but show up well here.

I've said it before, but it was a while back. Lots of new people. I use photography to try to see the world's beauty, instead of the garbage in my mind. I almost always have a camera with me to remind me to "look for the beauty in the world".
