Let the BS begin...

Kevin Rudd would be a better leader than Tony Abbott, hands down IMO, though the Labor party behind Rudd is what's caused all the chaos in Australia for the last 7 years.

The Coalition need to get rid of Abbott... put Hockey in to run the party. The polls would be smashing Labor, instead of this near even thing they have with Abbott.

Labor are proving what I have known, being they are a reactive government. Here they are just before the election, after once again changing leadership... wait for it... back to who lost it just before the last election 3 years ago. Kid you not! And thus they're doing now what the public has pleaded with them for years to do. When Rudd was in last time he caused endless debt. Gillard continued it. Labor actually have the gall to criticise the Coalition for making drastic cuts to the budget in order to get this country back inline with spending what it earns, not this debt ridden scenario of borrow more that Labor have... and have wasted 50% of the money borrowed on failed schemes and nonsense.

The very immigration policy Rudd collapsed on getting elected years ago, he is now trying to claim ownership of putting it back nearly as it was, 7 years later, because illegal immigration went nuts with asylum claims. Seriously... he has done nothing good and people are fooled by popularity over policy.

I just don't get it. Australia needs some tough years of Government saving. The coalition need to ditch Abbott and headup with Hockey. No ifs, buts, or maybe's about that one... Abbott is a dead weight as a leader. Hockey is more personable to the public. The public like him more... so with that plus good policy for the future of the country, win win.

What do you think... all you Aussies here?

It doesn't matter who's the face to get blamed for the f*ck ups, the reality is, as you say, that it's the policies of the party that are getting them into hot water.

Right now, for me, it's the choice between 2 snakes, so I think I'll look at Assange or the Palmer United Party instead.

Its pissing me off... I've always voted for who I believe would do the best for the country. I have voted for coalition, labor and independents over the years. Same same... I voted away from both to not support either with secondaries when both sucked.

Labor have lost their footing in being for the blue collar worker. Labor get in, employ 10 - 20 thousand white collar workers into Government roles of zero substance to drop unemployment, as a result they borrow large to pay them, which stimulates the economy from obtaining national debt, yet they also used to have some good schemes that the other party simply refused to touch. So it was essential to rotate parties around. They still don't focus today on the blue collar worker though... in fact they piss all over them by screwing the economy so employers simply can't afford them, and it reduces exports, thus manufacturing. Labor do a lot of now plans, more and more which fail nowadays than succeed, yet some still have benefit.

The coalition cut all the money wasters Labor enact, they pay off the debt whilst implementing plans that don't show potential now, but more a decade from now. They're very infrastructure oriented which actually boost the very foundation labor are supposed to support, being the blue collar worker. Saying that... they look at the bigger picture of what benefits everyone, not what benefits just them. The current leader though... he isn't producing the hard facts of policy either, and is now just as bad as Rudd... no policy, reactive instead of proactive leading into the election, when they've had years to sort our policy and get it out there as their own. They're undoing of trying to be secretive is just as damaging, because people don't trust words, as words in the last 7 years have burnt this country into a downward spiral.

Geez.... Assange could do good out of this one with the damage these two are doing. They don't even need to say anything and could be the next PM. I guess at least he can then cite his own freedom as the PM! Irony or what.

I would love to be a fly on the wall when if Assange won, when speaking with the US president. Please Mr. President, tell me your secrets. Not real sure Australia would have any secrets though then... ASIO would have to turn inwards and keep everything from its own Government.

Labor for me, over the years have has the following attributes:
they borrow large
yet they also used to have some good schemes that the other party simply refused to touch

While Coalition have been:

cut all the money wasters Labor enact
pay off the debt whilst implementing plans that don't show potential now, but more a decade from now
infrastructure oriented
they look at the bigger picture

If it weren't for what you rightly state as the 'reactive' leadership of Abbott, I would be VERY much in their favor, however their policies on the TAFE sector, Higher Ed and a few others that have slipped my mind have really made it shaky for me.

The slippery nature of both of the leaders have really made it kinda fishy in politics. It would be interesting to see what would happen if they turfed out Abbott and put in Hockey, imagine the fun the caricaturists would have!

And yes, I would laugh my ass off if Assange got the leadership.....although I had an interesting thought.....what better way for people to do whatever the hell they want with a country than to f*ck around in the political scene so much that the general public switches off to them?

I KNOW that they'll be touting the fact that they are putting the National Disability Plan into effect when it comes to the "Pick me!", "No, pick ME!" at election time; but the interesting thing is.....NO ONE knows where the funding is coming from, how it's publicly accessible, or what changes it will realistically make to the current infrastructure that is in place now.

And it seemed suspiciously focused around ABI, physical and cognitive disabilities, not a single mention of the one place our country falls behind - mental health!

I wonder what changes, good and bad, a businessman like mining magnate Clive Palmer and his party would make to the country?
Although if anyone votes for Pauline Hanson's party, the only funding they'll willingly give out is for swimming lessons for the refugees who arrive by boat, so they can swim back!

She's got a few good points, but jeez she's a hard nosed........
