Bad day/meds not helping

Thank you, ParalyzedMind. I'm going to talk to my doctor and try switching to primarily klonopin while I taper off the Xanax.

Rain, do you mind if I ask how you're doing now? Once you came off the Xanax, were you able to give up benzos entirely? Please don't feel obligated to share.

I'm incredibly active in my therapy and I fully believe in the power of self-healing, exercise, nutrition, and CBT. When my brain is like this though, which I'm now becoming more increased is due to these medications, it's next to impossible for me to access any self-healing, if that makes sense. I am not myself, in other words. Maybe a new doctor is in order.

Anyway, as always, you all are the greatest.

I am so glad the withdrawals are long gone, and no I will never go on them again. I am experiencing a uptake level on my anxiety but I am also I am taking Atarax two times a day for the beginning of when my anxiety starts up and it seems to helping me a lot. I am doing great otherwise but one of my diagnosis is anxiety disorder too. Good luck on what ever you choose to do.

I'm so glad you've been doing better, Rain. Thank you very much for sharing. I'm actually taking Atarax twice a day as well. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be enough at this point, but as we said, it could be the rebound anxiety.

With the opinions of you all, and my own better judgment, I've decided to use Klonopin while coming off of Xanax. I've just e-mailed my psych about it (how are 15-20 minute appts possibly long enough for anything?!) and we'll see what she says.

Today was rough. Day three off Xanax entirely, which day one and two were fine, but today was rough. I'm thinking that going from .5mgs of Xanax to 0 is just too fast. I thought the Klonopin would hopefully prevent the withdrawal symptoms, since they're the same class of medication, but clearly my understading is limited. Hopefully my psych will be able to set me up with a better plan.

I wonder if I'll ever be strong enough to be free of them altogether. As an emet, I doubt it.

Thanks everyone <3

This is not medical advice,
but you said you experience PMDD?
I have PCOS, which can cause similar symptoms. Something that may help is essential oils and/or scented candles. Menthol/peppermint is calming, as is lavender.

Also, you are taking the reccomended dosages from what I see. Zofran (and tylenol) tackles something different than Klonipin and Xanax. Your nasuea is a symptom of anxiety - zofran treats that. Pain is like since you are cycling - tylenol treats that. You really just took the Klonopin and Xanax for the anxiety. It got you through and that's the goal!

For your PMDD symptoms, you may want to talk with a professional who specializes in that and see if maybe they have some other tips to cope with your symptoms.
