Triggered badly today and now seriously considering ending this "beautiful" (heavy on the sarcasm) life.

and how is anyone supposed to respond to that statement? Sounds to me that you should be visiting an ER if that's how you feel, your obviously reaching out for help otherwise you would not have posted, so I take this as a cry for help. We can help you here with peer support, but we can't save you, only you can do that by physically going to get the help you need, I urge you to seek that help.

If it's hard to talk. I have zero abilty to talk when on the edge suicidal so having them helps. I have them bookmarked on all browsers.

Maybe talk about the trigger? That helps for me because I am usually framing it wrong and not rational about it so rational people here helps me to see it and frame it correctly at a time my brain is failing me.

@recoveringfromptsd How? With compassion. I have never found hotlines to be helpful.

@Smile You aren't alone. I am glad you are safe at the moment. The pain sucks. If they made aspirin for emotional pain like the do physical pain would you still be having SI?

I have found DBT ACCEPTS (distraction) helpful: ACCEPTS

And DBT self soothing helps:

And I started this: Create A Sensory Self-Soothing Kit - Creativity in Therapy : making a kit with a few small self soothing things & small grounding items, things for each scent. The small bag fit easily in my purse. It's a pretty cool idea!

@Fadeaway I guess for some the hotlines don't work, they did not for me years ago, but a few months ago they help me a lot, in that they helped me by being an ear with another view that could challenge my distortions when I was very much in SI

I've been there and it sucks. But...I'm still here. With good therapy, good tools and this group of people here....I'm still here. No need for a chat line. .WE are here
