Yes I always liked the zephyrs had a certain timeless look that still looks as good now as it did then, like the old bandits there the same
If he wants me to `air` it out let me know

Where as sports bikes go to look so dated so quick unless there a beauty like my GSXR :D

More pics please Amethist keep em coming

Love the pictures Amethist, What's the Kawakka, a Z series? Can't quite make it out.

I love these too, Triumph Rocket least thats what they call them over here in Aussie, they're a 2 liter triple, sound awesome with a sports exhaust.
There's one getting around here with a turbo strapped to the side of it :D.
blwnawy

My old xl250s 1979
rebuilt from a blown up wreck :)

It is a 1992 Kawasaki Zephyr 1100, California model. still has all the original emission system on it too. But everything is STUPID sizes. And the dry weight of it is phenomenal, 58 stone before you add oil and juice.

2 pott calliper brakes and both potts different sizes, the new exhaust system was found at the back of a suppliers. We got it from Demon Tweaks, the guy dusted it off before he sent it, and we found a dead spider and web inside, that looked like it had been there a very long time LOL. Everything has to be searched for, but can be found if you dig deep enough.

Would you believe it came in bits, when we got it. Frame. wheels, wiring, engine, carburetters, every thing in boxes and bread crates. Built and running in 6 weeks.

It is has taken us to Devon and back, the Isle Of White and the Isle Of Mann, and so many more places.

The triumph was saw just a few weeks after it had been in the shops so to speak.

6 weeks thats impressive Amethist I have a few bikes in the shed if he fancies getting his hands dirty again LOL :D

I bet he has a real bond with that bike and you I expect, Thats what happens when you build up one out of a labour of love. Just buying one is never quite the same after youve had a bike that you built from bits

Hope demone tweeks didnt charge you extra for the dead spider haha

LOL no cost enough for system as it was. Would have cost us double if we had to get it manufactured, cos of stupid sizes. A lot of the stuff has to be genuine parts, so you can imagine the cost.

But well worth the effort in the end.

Yes I can imagine the cost of some of the parts

Well worth the money though as it looks great in the pics and its a nice sensible colour :)

Nice
My first bike I had after I got my license was a 79 XL100 flat maxed out at 80ks, went some places on it though. Good old pluggers not like the high maintenance bikes of today. Mine didn't have the chrome Micron though :(.

Great looking basket case, love a story with a happy ending :D it's a credit to the effort put in.

Back off LB. Amethist if good old hubby could do that in six weeks maybe he would like to have a break down the sunny south ( when it's not snowing that is )
Get my old bike going again and I will ride it, yet he can come and hug it when ever he wants!

Love the way you mention the East Coast sounds so American, far better than say Grimsby!! (joke)
