The stress I feel under at the moment...headache is absolutely blinding. Along with all the other anxiety stuff. Feel horrendous.

Thank you for taking time to read and reply. I really appreciate that.

So I ended up at the doctor's this afternoon. Emergency appointment. I now have beta blockers, diazepam and sleeping tablets.

The doctors in that practise are amazing. She spent a lot of time with me. Asked about my coping mechanisms. I thought she would rap me on the knuckles for what I said, but she was very understanding. I was very touched that she had read my notes before I went in.

I took a betablocker an hour ago and a sleeping tablet 15 minutes ago.

It's weird, it feeling like my muscles are melting (in a nice way). For the first time in I don't know how many years, the back of my throat feels soft, my jaw feels soft, and my leg muscles feel, well, nice. Not in flight or fight mode.

My heart rate has slowed (don't feel like it's in my throat, or about to burst out of my chest). Breathing has improved as a consequence (slower and deeper).

I don't fel I could crank myself up to a panic attack if I really tried at the moment :)

That's great that you found a solution to an awful problem. Kudos to you for working out a situation rather than caving to it. For me I usually just lie down on my bed when I get a really awful headache so as to relax my back and neck as much as possible.
