Other Chronic fatigue syndrome

It can be but it can be a symptom of a number of diseases. If you haven't had a checkup with lab work lately I would seek that route first.

Fatigue is definitely a part of PTSD, but fortunately I don't experience the worst of it. My heart goes out to those who have CFS. I've experienced extreme fatigue only once, but it lasted a month, after an extremely stressful series of events. My fatigue is now more along the lines of tiring easily and needing rest days after activity days. It's not in the realm of fatigue experienced in CFS.

Solara, you are blessed I personally have CFS, and I was not aware that a high percentage of PTSD people suffer from it until I let my therapist know that I had been diagnosed and what meds were advised. ( had to let her know so she could notate for shrink so they were aware what my GP had given and to ensure there were not any interactions between the meds one doctor was advising vs. the meds the other doctor advised.)

Before PTSD hit its hardest I had no issues working long hard physical hours day after day, Now some days it is a struggle to clean the bathrooms without getting so exhausted that I have to take a nap.

Fatigue is one of the most debilitating symptoms I have from PTSD. At my worst when I was suicidal last fall I was sinking under not only PTSD/depression but also mononucleosis and severe anemia, while having to run to class up and down a hilly university campus every day! My GP suspected CFS but it was difficult to properly diagnose what with everything else going on. Needless to say I felt like passing out every other second... :O_o:

I do have fibromyalgia. My Dr told me that it's common for people with depressive disorders. It's not easily diagnosed because there isn't a specific test that can be done to confirm diagnosis. I went through two different bouts with physical therapy and nearly a year of eliminating other possibilities before my primary Dr would diagnose fibromyalgia.

JadedGhost13 I have the same problem. It's part of the reason I prefer to live in a small apartment. Less work...and even then it can become overwhelming if I have too much stress. Some days I have to take a hot soak in the tub, smoke a bowl and meditate before I can manage major house cleaning.

@Dee Morris I have a small home thank goodness. I actually keep half of it closed off so I do not have to pay to heat it and because no one goes in there I can pretty much dust and clean the floors about once a month. There is a bathroom in that part of the house though and my husband messes it up every weekend so I end up cleaning two bathrooms every week no matter what.

I can totally relate to smoking a bowl to get to a point where you can clean. That's pretty much what it takes to get me centered on a lot of things. I have ADD as well so you can see where all these diagnosis can really trump me up.

I have Fibro as well. Fibro and CFS are kissing cousins - they share a lot of the same symptoms. Fibro seems to be the diagnosis if pain is your biggest symptom, CFS is if fatigue is your biggest symptom, otherwise they seem to be about the same.

@Barberian they are very closely related. Also getting a doctor to listen can sometimes be hard. I know a woman who has fibro and I lent her my ultrasound wand and it done wonders for her. You may want to check into one. I purchased mine on amazon for around $70 (including the ultrasound gel) . She went out and purchased her own within a week of using mine for the first time. I have all kinds of tens units for my chronic pain in my cervical spine and honestly, my ultrasound wand does more for me than even the best of the best tens units I have. (And I have one that is totally amazing, but so I alternate between it and my ultrasound)

Thanks everyone for all your help. I don't know if I have chronic fatigue but it isn't just tiredness. My body aches and my brain is boggled. My doctor doesn't understand or care to understand. It is so frustrating!
