Colorful and hopefully optimistic but maybe hateful occasionally

I AM NOW OLD ENOUGH TO RENT A CAR. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME IN ISOLATION :D

@Freida Now seems like a good time for a good story about evading police on accident, right? lol. My story may not have been worth the wait, but maybe it'll provide a little entertainment??

I've been driving my mom's car around to and from work. One of the headlights went out, but I couldn't get it replaced for about a week. The first time a policifer (police officer) pulled me over I was able to kinda fake not knowing about it, but obviously it kept happening afterward. I'd be driving, pass a cop, and then see him turn around and catch up to me in the rearview mirror. It began happening to and from work.

About a week after the headlight went out, I was just leaving work and decided I wanted to turn right, towards a Sonic (and my weekly ice cream cone), instead of left to go home. Sonic is more downtown in the city I work in, while turning left to go home goes to a little country road that takes me to a place between my two home cities (my house is technically not in any city, it's just in the woods -- nice place, classic Tennessee supposedly, according to people who aren't from here anyway).

As I came out of Sonic, I passed a cop. I watched him in my rearview mirror as he pulled over, turned around, and began to follow me. Cool and good, I was getting used to it at this point. No big deal.

I had planned, though, on the way home, to turn left and stop by Taco Bell to get a handful of those AMAZING cinnibon things -- the fried donuts with the cream cheese center (THEY ARE TO DIE FOR). But I was so distracted by the cop that I missed my turn.

Maybe I was getting too comfortable with these cops in this nice-ass city because my first thought was, "Eh, no big deal. There's a closed gas station in the next 800 feet. I'll turn around there, the cop will definitely see me, turn around with me if he doesn't pull me over then, and then he can pull me over when I'm in the Taco Bell lot so that it'll be easier on both of us."

(I should mention I'd gotten off work at about midnight, so it was nearly one in the morning at this time. I didn't think he'd lose the one driver at one in the morning.)

I turned into the abandoned gas station, and the cop hadn't caught up yet, so I also had time to turn around and head back to Taco Bell. I saw him turn around in the same gas station in my rearview mirror. No problems, though he was closing the distance on us now.

Unfortunately there were suddenly two other cars coming off the interstate into this city and we did a little bit of a shuffle before I turned into the Taco Bell lot. I saw him drive right by me.

Alright.

I went to the drive thru and began ordering my little donut things -- when I happened to look up and see that police car drive by again. Then turn around. Then drive by again. I continued ordering as I watched him pull over for a second, turn around, and start patrolling the road.

Took me a minute to order my stupid donuts because I couldn't stop laughing once I realized what had happened!

Several minutes later he was still circling the road and one other cop had joined him. I figured they would recognize me when I pulled out of the lot, BUT THEY DIDNT SEE ME. I started driving away and they were both going the other way!

I felt so bad that when I finally made it home, I called that city's police department and asked the dispatch officer to apologize to them for me. She thought it was utterly hilarious, thanked me for calling, and said the two officers looking for me were tickled (she went ahead and figured out which ones for me). They were glad I already knew my headlight was out and that I was going to get it fixed soon. And said they'd go ahead and stop looking for me now.

I got my headlight replaced by my brother-in-law the next evening. I hope my next pop-eye is a little fun in some way :P

Y'ALL I JUST REALIZED THAT the entire reason I didn't report the sexual assault in college was because of my own guilt and being convinced I would hurt the entire trans community ?

In reality SHE was hurting the trans community, not me.

??

Anyway, that's all, just wanted to get that off my chest so I can have a good day! :) Y'all have good days as well!!

Good for you @littleoc for recognizing her part in it and your innocence.

I am happy that you can now go and have yourself a good day!!! :) :D :) I am having a good day as well although it is really just starting for me...but at least it is off to a good start. ha ha

Wishing you the best always,
Lion

That is awesome!!!! I know you made the dispatcher's night and believe me.. those officers are never gonna live it down!

I have a sore throat, but only on the right side. I tried taking my temperature, but my mom has the shittiest thermometer I’ve ever seen. It keeps reading my temp between 94°F and 96°F — guaranteed incorrect. Not going out for a thermometer now.

Lung feels uncomfortable but I’ve had this feeling before. From panic attacks and lack of sleep sleep. Gonna take a nap and hope — I really hope if I have something I didn’t spread it ?
