Consumed By Sadistic Fantasies Regarding Cops

One thing is to narrow your field.

Hating cops is no different from hating black people, hating men, hating Jews, hating immigrants... And you can see if you follow your thoughts, what generalizing can do. It creates the KKK, people in trucks along the border shooting little kids in the desert... Terrible things.

Friday, love you as a person, this is not at all personal.

yep, aggressive violence is wrong, and I'm not going to advocate or defend it. it's wrong.

but there's an important distinction to be made in there, black people, Joooos, men, wimmmin queers etc had absolutely no choice to be born as they were.

no one forced anyone to be a cop

sure some were fooled by the image / myth of protect and serve

but plenty more saw an opportunity for a power trip, cos play and corrupt gain, and more still fell into that rut after they joined.

The Knapp report into systemic corruption in the NYPD in the 1970s (see the film "Serpico" or google "Frank Serpico" for the lead up to the investigation) found that a sizeable MAJORITY of officers were actively seeking corrupt payments.and there was 90 odd percent turn over in the ranks of captain and above in the two or three years after the report. I'm so sick of quoting the figure that I'm not going to check it any more.

sure, it's only one example, but the incentives are systemic, and whether we are looking at the Knapp Report on NYPD (interestingly for a public document - download from archive.org is blocked) the Met porn squad in London, the west midlands serious crime squad in England, Norma-Jean Almodovar's account of child sex, burglary rings and murder of witnesses in the LAPD or the enquiry into the Donegal Gardai in Ireland - it's different times, it's different places, but it's the same damned post Robert (Orange) Peel incentive structure resulting in the same damned shite, every single time.

@Anarchy thanks dude, if I said that I'd be called a hater. Even before my trauma. I saw lots of piggy behavior but it was expected and normal. I don't think many of my contemporaries are worshipping the 'heroes'

Ed, here's a feckin big man hug if you'll accept one. you certainly deserve one.

abuse usually follows if I ever forget to say that you can always find a few genuinely good (but misguided) people in even the worst of institutions, so that caveat out of the way...

the first "Public sector" policing in the English speaking world was in the mid 18th century, in Middlesex - the county where the Westmnister Parliament was located and most members of that parliament had their "town" residences.

the British establishment had been indulging in a series of prolonged wars on continental Europe, and returning soldiers, had next to zero practical skills, except armed for robbery (called "foraging" when they were on the continent), which they continued to practice.

for centuries, kings had been extending the list of "offences against the crown" which were to be tried at royal courts and for which fines were paid to the crown, not to the actual victim, but the victim was still (on pain of being fined his or her self) required to participate.

hence in the name of royal revenue seeking, the structure and incentives for private justice had been bled dry.

The development of "Public" policing in the county of Middlesex, was in effect the members of parliament "socialising" the cost of having their homes protected onto all of the residents of the county

little has changed since, benefits are concentrated and private, costs are dispersed and "socialised".

Peel's mid 19th century Metropolitan Police, which served as inspiration for pretty much all state sector policing in the English speaking world was, in turn, inspired by (orange) Peel's time as British governor general of Ireland and the colonial paramilitary "Royal Irish Constabulary"

Vladimir Lenin's "Who -Whom" dichotomy is apt when considering "protect and serve"

"who" gets to inflict what upon "Whom"?
and which of those groups gets to pay the extortionate monopoly price bill for that crappy monopoly "service"?

I'd better head off the usual objections
first, there's the fallacy that without the state providing, there would be absolutely zero provision - whether of pigs, roads, school teachers, laws, money...
sure, in a free society, how would people ever know to tie their shoe laces?
The telling part is that money is taken (with implicit threat of force) up front and the "service" is provided with predatory pricing (supposedly "free" - yeah, sure it is - a monopoly will always (all else being equal) provide poorer services at higher cost than competing providers do).

If Mr walmart or Mr Tesco, or any other private sector business ever sold anything below the price it cost to provide, there would be an absolute uproar about "predatory pricing" and the unfair tactic that it is. Somehow when that is practised by a coercive monopoly, it is mystically transformed into a "public good"
In practice, if predatory pricing is ever done by a private sector business, it is never done for long, it just doesn't stand up. But, if the money to subsidise it can be obtained coercively - then it keeps going, and that's just what the state sector does to keep competition out.

There is also the myth that competition would drive prices so low that no one would ever provide the service ever, ever again...
hmmm, name me one area of economic activity where that has happened?

There are a couple of others which mutually cancel
first that the service wouldn't cover those who couldn't afford to pay it
second that there would be a "free rider problem" so the market would under provide the service
Like I say, those two mutually cancel each other.

Yes, I accept. There's always a few humans, yes. Not as many as some believe. This thread is ancient, I think that I have overcome the original problem. My psychologist helped. I was an upstanding law abiding, hard working, tax paying citizen. They saw a spic, nigger, mostly spic, piece of shit to play sadistic piggy games. I don't think that, considering all I have lost, that the love will be flowing anytime soon. Abuse can follow but I don't know if the responses, I provide, not ad hominem attacks but facts, would be appreciated. On this topic I am not 'ed' but 'Lester'...he does not care!

@Anarchy... I'm not following the logic.

Question : I'm dehumanizing a group of people, am consumed with hating all of them, and wanting to make them all suffer & scream & shit themselves in pain.... Advice on how others cope with their anger?

Answer : Look deeper into examples which fuel righteous rage & irrational hatred?

I'd still hate every single baby smashing, rape camp building, village gassing, murdering f*cking Serb... If I followed that logic. As well as Christians, Columbians, Cops, Environmentalists... List goes on. These are all groups of people who have hurt me & killed people I love. Whether they were born that way or not enters into it not at all. I can't think of a single group of people where everyone in it is one way. For good or ill. Idealistic or annihilistic.

How I deal with irrational anger, rage, & hatred? Is what I shared. First there was Danillo. Then Dragana. 1 person. Then another. Then (what I shared above. That process.) Done that process IDK how many times. Colombians was a bit of a quirky one, because it started out as Latinos, but that was so ridiculous my mind couldn't hold it for more than hours, considering half my boys were Latino themselves. Okay. Fine. We'll hate Columbians, then.

Hate? Its a pretty natural occurrence. Feeding hate, otoh? Putting blinders on and only looking at things that support the rage & hatred? IME... Really f*cking bad idea.

IMO... Love & Hate should both be on a case by case basis. If it's a whole group bound together by any commonality? Creed, race, religion, sex, nationality, etc? Your head is up your ass, and all you'll see is the shit you let yourself see, by keeping your head there on purpose.

To be fair I can see how choice v no choice may be able to work for some people in shedding irrational hatred & rage. But by that logic every "decent" Serb, Columbian, Cop, etc. would have left their country, job, etc... Leaving only the evil people behind, and let's f*cking burn 'em. Shrug. That paradigm, choice v no choice, only works in certain scenarios, like abuse.

The dislike is of a freely made career choice, and the incentivised predatory/parasitic behaviours which so frequently follow from that choice.

and not a dislike of how someone was born.

My last assignment was to find good things that they have done and I did, it wasn't hard. There's a huge problem with COPS!

d'oh, Today's news in Britain is all about "The dumping of Chinese steel"

no mention of the dumping of crappy state sector paper money, roads, policing, health plans, courts, positivistic legal system, schools, trash collection, ponzi schemes...

and before any American gets sniffy about crappy steel - just remember the crappy metallurgy of 1903 Springfield rifles, a good half of the P14/M17 rifles and the Liberty ships that snapped in half in port as soon as temperatures dropped below about 40F

The thing is, yes people do have hatred for groups of people men, women, different races, ethnic groups etc. Hatred that was reasonably founded in trauma or something and extrapolated to a whole group. But I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about a systematic, large scale problem with police that is largely unaddressed, ignored, denied etc. That's all. This thread has served it's purpose for me.

One last thing since I got woken up to this thread. As opposed to other professions that people's lives depend on vs cops and PTSD. Cops can in most cases get away with murder. They are there to protect themselves only. They have guns and they truly think that they are in some imaginary war with, mostly, poor and minority people, Of course not all of whom are great, some very dangerous and yes they have the right to defend themselves. Doctors and nurses don't believe that they are at war with patients, pilots don't think that they are at war with their passengers or cargo. It is a threat to me and people like me. Because a cop with PTSD who thinks that I'm an insurgent in his or her imaginary war, who has just plenty of psychopathic brothers and sisters to egg him on and has PTSD will most probably put 16 shots in me because I reached for my ID on his request during the unconstitutional stop. Too risky, especially when the brothers are attempting to escalate the situation.

Final statement as this is a useless thread now to me.

Even Forbes magazine confirms the very high incidence of antisocial personality disorder in police, mainstream as hail.
