A couple years ago I finally went to get some help and ended up getting diagnosed with c-ptsd, bpd, adhd, anorexia, and a learning disability. Does anyone else here have similar diagnosis?

Hi there @freebird. I'm a supporter of a combat veteran so I don't have any information for you. But I just wanted to say hi and welcome aboard!

Someone will be by to offer information eventually. Until then read around the forums. Lots of great information here for you.

Glad you found us!

Hey there!

Familiar with multiple diagnoses here. In fact mine resemble an eye chart like yours, lol. Seem to get a new one each year.
List so far:
Depression (MDD)
Anxiety (GAD)
OCD
ADD
Adult Separation Anxiety Disorder (ASAD)
Dissociative Disorder (DD NOS)
PTSD
Eating Disorder (ED)
Self Injury (SI) past dx

That's all I can remember at the moment. You're not alone. Many others carry many labels, but remember, no matter how many dx's you get, you are not the sum total of your disorders. You are a person who experiences these; you are NOT the illness itself. Important distinction. ☺

Thank you for the reminders that we are not our illnesses, they are just our experiences.

What has been the best thing to help you guys cope? I find playing music, taking my medication, and taking care of my health helps. You guys are very strong!

Let's see. My "collection" includes:
Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Panic Attacks
Major Depressive Disorder
PTSD
DID
Bipolar I
Fibromyalgia
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Chronic Epstein-Barre virus

There's a lot of overlap among diagnoses. For instance, I don't really have GAD--that was an early diagnosis before the PTSD and DID. And mostly the panic attacks are flashbacks of parts/alters who have hijacked me. Nor do I have MDD--that was diagnosed before anybody figured out the mania stuff. And I'm still not so sure the bipolar stuff isn't part and parcel of the DID. So I agree with @Cannottakethis that focus has to be on activities and strategies that lead toward some kind of healthy balance.

What helps me? Forcing myself to rest. Practicing self-compassion as best as I can. Meditating. Going to therapy three times per week. Keeping myself physically safe. Doing creative work like painting and writing and some crafts I like.

Welcome to the forum. I wish you peace as you cope with your challenges.

Thank you Hope! Self-care is a huge challenge. I have been doing little experiments here and there. For ex. I don't look at the news if I'm not feeling well. I found that helps. Or if I get cold, I don't wait it out like I usually would, instead I soak my feet in hot water. Little things like that. One new thing I have been working on is staying hydrated and not getting too fixed on the internet. It's been helping alot.

Anyway thank you for the welcome:). Wishing you peace as well!

Yes, I find that doing just a few little things, such as the examples you gave, and telling myself I am taking care of myself and drumming up some self-compassion that I actually do need to care for and about myself...the little things add up eventually to a practice that leads to healing.
