Disability - third party

Filed for disability. Just got in the mail a form for me to have a third party who knows me well to fill out and report on my daily activities and abilities. Um. I've been hiding from the world for years. No one knows me well. I haven't invited someone to my home in so long I don't even remember. I am afraid kind of all the time. No one knows anything about me - so what the heck am I supposed to do with this form?

I just saw a psych for the first time, who diagnosed me with ptsd - have no long-term doctor. I've been sort of hiding away for a whole lot of years.

I suggest taking it to your pdoc and having him state if he will that isolation is a 'thing' with your disability which leads to you being unable to find a person who has known you.

The papers specifically say that a doc can't fill it out. Do you mean like a doctor's note on top?

That is what I was thinking, yes. No idea what country you are in though. Is it private or public disability you are speaking about?

IDK where you are. I have commented on this b4 and got some flak about it but I know the rules because my psychologist, a PhD who did my papers, explained it to me as a matter of law. In the US the only thing on those papers that matters is are you 60% or more not able to work because of your condition and will the doctor (MD or PhD Psychologist) attest to that? If so, you are entitled by law. Then after you file the papers they refuse you (they refuse everyone.) Then you hire a lawyer who gets paid out of your settlement. Then you wait awhile but they pay you retroactively from the date of the application.

@tryingtocope18 - you mention that nobody knows you well and you haven't invited anyone to your home in years. I was just wondering if there is literally anyone that can attest to that. Just someone who knows you. If not I'd suggest as @shimmerz suggested that you get your psydoc or the most qualified person who knows you to write a short report explaining that this is in fact a facet of your symptom/injury.

They don’t refuse everyone. I know a number of people who got it on the first try.

Yeah, I could find people to attest to the fact that I've never invited them to my home. I am able to go to other people's houses when needed (usually because they need help with something) but just can't stand having anyone else at my house. At other people's houses, I can leave if I get overwhelmed. At my house, I have to wait for THEM to leave.
