I was at my therapist yesterday and we discussed dissociation. The goal of the therapy for me for now is to stabilize. She told me that dissociation is something that we'll work on eventually, but for now I need it (she said that literally). She told me it's keeping me safe from painful experiences and that - for now - I should accept that.
