This is a question I'm just wondering about. I think early on, I was co-dependant on my husband. I felt like he needed me and depended on him. I was so afraid of rejection that I was dependant on him more.
However, in time, he wasn't able to fill my emotional needs, so I am no longer dependant on him. In alot of ways I feel like a person who lives like they are single. I have to have the mindset to take care of myself. When he is distant he doesn't depend on me either.
I just know some of you are in situations where your sufferer is more dependant on you for certain things due to their illness. Do they give you what you need in some way so that you are co-dpendant on them?
