The more I think about it, it's classic narcissistic triangulation

The narc tells one or both of the people that the narc wants to manipulate; that the other has been saying bad things about them or doing bad things to them -- or is planning to do bad things

the narc offers itself as the ally to one or both of them, and forces both of them apart and into the narc's hands.

In the case of moslems, the narc is presenting groups that have emerged as direct or indirect results of foreign policy decisions since at least as far back as 1980

(with the funding of Afghan mujahadin following the Soviet military involvement there, and the subsequent follies in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and else where, for example the continuing arming of radical sunni sectarian opposition to the Assad dynasty)

and is presenting those (very unpleasant) groups as direct threats in America and Europe

Naturally that shit stirring is going to cause suspicions and tensions between the Moslem and the majority populations.

and the narcs present themselves as the only possible friend and defender to each group.

If we could get that understanding out there to the general populations of both groups, people might have a lot easier time realising that there are indeed two classes which have mutually antagonistic interests:

Those classes are the rulers and the ruled

substitute those classes for Marx's "capitalists" and "workers" or any of the present day bogeymen, and Marx's class theory is restored to the now forgotten classical liberal class theory (which Marx plagarised and distorted) and it makes sense

We have a lot more common interest with our Moslem neighbours than any of us has with Trump (or any other big narc).

After the mass shootings in Paris by ISIS sympathizers, there didn't seem to be as big of a debate about more gun control or mental health care or how the government is screwing up keeping the French safe. I didn't see that from my very far away distance of it, even though everyone around me talked about it a lot. Debatea about what need to change were had, but the overall discussion seemed to be support for those who died and France as a country, and the overall blame was on the perpetrators.

In the US, the first thing people seem to do is blame someone, anyone, they can, in addition to blame of the perp.

Is this just my perception? This was close to home, and it seems like the closer to home it is, the quicker we are to blame people other than the perps.

I'm sure improvements need to be made, but do we need to jump to blaming those outside of the perp so quickly? Why does my country do that?

I think it's a symptom of how divided we are and Trump is running with it.

I think that might depend some on who "we" is. The loudest voices may not be the majority. I honestly don't know what the majority thinks (or how).

I've always thought that part of the reason for the right to bear arms was just in case we had to stage another revolution. I wonder what the founders would have thought of Trump?

I'm going to keep following this thread-------- may not add much though.

I tend to shut down when these sorts of things happen. I can feel it starting now------

Won't be watching/reading the news as it's just too much for me.

I don't want to see how Trump is going to manipulate this in his favor-----but I know he will, somehow, and probably in a despicable way.

Today has been too much for me.

But thanks for the intelligent conversation. :)

I just want to run outside and scream.

Trump is despicable.

He's making statements about being right, saying he predicted this attack-----followed by saying he doesn't want credit for predicting it because we need to think about the victims (or something like that).

-------the toads in my back yard could have predicted another ISIS attack.

I mean really? ISIS isn't going to stop.

I stand here right here and now saying there will be more attacks. Guess when it happens I should run around acting like I'm so great/I'm so smart because I predicted it. That is akin to predicting the sun will rise again.

His behavior is typical narcissism.

Narcissistic.
Bully.

Can't stand them.
Hard to beat them when the world is full of suckers who readily bow down.

It's sad when even long term republican politicians are speaking about the implosion of the Republican Party, taking it back from radicals such as the tea party, and rebuilding.

We can only hope/pray.
