News Donald Trump's Popularity To Date

@Rumors - that's a really interesting and well thought out explanation for why people could be really attracted to Trump.

I will add one word of illogical nonsense: Palin.

The video of Palin endorsing Trump made me want to cry. I can't take it anymore. This is who America picks as political leaders? I'm disgusted with both Democrats and Republicans. I'm all for saying it like it is, which Palin and Trump both do, but there is too much of a shift towards authoritarianism - - on both sides.

I'm thinking of moving to Belize.

@Justmehere
I'm with you on Belize! Beautiful, great scuba diving, warm, the dollar exchange is great.... Palin is merely a pledge to get the women's vote. She is as big a douche bag as he is. Can't stand her voice at all. I am sure she is probably a nice person to know on a social basis, but her mouth politically gets her in trouble every time. She comes across as a flake. Not my cup of tea but neither are Hillary or Bernie. We are completely screwed! I liked Romney bc he was middle of the road. Although he was Mormon, I never felt like he was fanatically one way or another. His focus was more on fiscal strategy and American saftey. I don't remember him getting hung up of defunding planned parenthood or other social debacles. Planned parenthood is responsible for a lot of good stuff and really is the least of what we need to worry about.... However, he could have made a big deal about it I don't remember now. He just seemed like a kind man with an ideology that wasn't fanatical either way. Trump is a fanatical that feeds off our fear and we buy in to it...Bernie and Hillary do the same thing. They have convinced us that there is a 99% and a 1% which is absolutely not true. There are a lot of 50% and 25% and 75%. They feed on the fear of the middle class and tell them that it will only get harder unless they are elected bc they are going to shut down the 1%.... It's crazy! Why do we buy in to such bull shit? Certainly Wall Street needs reform and there are sectors that need repairing, however to buy into the 99% vs 1% is nothing but buying in to fear mongering. I can't stand it!!!

Well, the one advantage about Trump winning is that I've always wanted to witness a live thermonuclear detonation. His recent talks about nuclear weapons show that may be a possibility now. Although, probably not much time to contemplate the spectacle after the flash.

(Not serious!)

I continue to be so creeped out by the popularity of Trump, not just Trump, but even more that he has any popularity or support at all.

He has offended everyone out there, and pissed me off when he said all Muslims should be kept out of the country. Wrong, that is so wrong. Immigration, no immigration - that's one issue. But to ban people just because they participate in one religion is beyond un-American.

Today, he retweeted a picture from a twitter account called WhiteGenocide - a self professed Nazi.

I wonder if perhaps Trump is really a plant from the Democratic party, there to make the GOP party look stupid.

Either way, people are still supporting him, in large numbers. I'm so creeped out by it. How foolish/awful can this guy get, and yet still his supporters still keep their blinders on and follow him? There are some parts of his following, his popularity, that feel like what happens when a group turns into a cult. Especially the pattern of blindness to the faults of the leader, and the reliance upon the leader to be calling all the shots. It feels so much like elements of a cult. I think that's one of the several reasons why I feel like I need to vent and process about it here.

I definitely feel like this country is more polarized than it was 7 years ago. Whether or not that is an Obama thing or just a timing thing, I don't know. However, I had really hoped that he would bridge the divide of race more than he has. I had hoped that his bi-racial background would give way to a new ideology of acceptance and equality amongst ALL. I don't feel like that is the case though. Makes me sad....

We are just being spoon fed fear from all directions right now.
Forgive me while I go all "conspiracy theory" on you.

If you want to deliberately manipulate people, this is a way to do it. Not by accident. On purpose. Cynically, with premeditation and purpose. I don't think Sarah Palin is that smart. I think Trump is. I think others are.

Something about Trump that amazes me is that he seems to have a lot of appeal to people who think they've been overlooked and minimized. The "99%"? But he clearly belongs to the "!%"! And, as far as I'm concerned, he's clearly a narcissist! So, I'm alarmed and concerned, but I'm also kind of amazed and impressed. (My T & I have discussed this and decided that Norway is the place to go, although the weather in Belize is probably nicer!)
