At this article below, there is video of RNC staff admitting physically removing a delegate, and she interviews them on tape, as they admit preventing her as an elected delegate from turning in that roll call petition that I was posting about before.

This is a WaPo article about the "banana convention": http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/article/2596880

From Brietbart, a pro Trump site (but all this info was echoed on CNN too) (http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/07/20/ted-cruz-vote-your-conscience/) about the speech Cruz gave:
"Reactions were even harsher behind the scenes. Dana Bash of CNN reports that Cruz entered a donor suite at the arena after the speech, and was told, to his face, that he was a “disgrace.” One man was so angry at Cruz that he had to be “physically restrained,” and Heidi Cruz had to be escorted from the convention floor because of heckling by Trump delegates."

Oh, and Snopes and Huffington Post are now indicating that Meliana lied when she said she had her degree in her speech - which can't be blamed on a speech writer. She just lied about having a college degree to the American people. Flat out lied. http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_578dd95ce4b0c53d5cfac0dc

And now there is a petition to remove Rience Prebus as chairman.

Only one more day of the trainwreck known as the RNC.

I was just watching a recap of the RNC, mainly because I cant find the remote I need for Showtime and its 2 am. I think Trump kissed Mike Pence on the forehead at the end, I normally try not to view live animation Donald Trump, so I didnt realize how weird their body types are when they're next to each other. Apart from pence's grey hair, he looked like a round faced nephew being kissed by the weird uncle you have to be nice to because he's rich. The whole booing and mean cheerleader line up of the Trump females thing didn't freak me out as much as that forehead kiss :yuck:. I'm tired, but this whole political debacle is staring to feel like a strange drug trip. :grumpy:

Trump and RNC establishment merged last night... Trump is now officially an establishment candidate, and sadly (for me) in the RNC... power was stolen in my party from the grass roots and cemented by the RNC (Pribus) and the RINO establishment... and will set into motion the precident for any future convention in my party. The roll call request was NOT from "Never Trumpers"... and it was within the rules and they just walked away from the podium... for over an hour.

My mister who can no longer stand being Dem is going Republican... I who can no longer stand being either will opt out of both and go "no party" which means I voluntarily opt out of all primary elections and only will be able to vote in the general in my state.

Seriously troubled here. And yeah, I'll be watching the Dem convention... we watched both in my family and it is tradition.

I watched the Cruz speech this morning, without the political commentary or the cut aways to Trump.

The amazing part starts at 18:50. He calls for love over hate and then he calls for vote your conscience... :) :) :) The crowd loses it and when he starts speaking again, he stops looking at the audience and he's speaking right to the camera, and only the camera, while surrounded by all the tremendous booing. He didn't do that earlier and the crowd. All the people who made Trump popular...

The floor of these conventions is much more intense than on TV.

They booed him for love over hate, for calling for standing up freedom and the constitution. That's what they booed him for. Many GOP leaders are now saying the party is dead if THAT is what people in the party are going to boo.

Based on other info, it appears Trump knew Cruz was going to say parts of this. The original speech was 10 minutes. Cruz spoke for 23 minutes. But Trump appears to know (and said/tweeted he knew) all of what Cruz was going to say and because Trump said so and his campaign released a text of the speech 30 minutes before it started. It appears Trump had people in the crowd whipping them up to boo Cruz, but I don't blame Trump for this. It was the party. It was all the Trump supporters in that room and all the party hacks enabling them. They booed standing up for the constitution. They did that.

I have been there when people tried to get us to chant on the state RNC floor or state/national DNC floor. It's not that hard to walk out or stay sitting or whatever. It's crazy scary to experience such a crowd, but it's really not that hard to just be silent. I never chanted in conventions for either party because it was creepy group think... I usually didn't even bother to watch the speeches but was out in the halls networking and advocating for my cause amoung delegates.

I'm not a Cruz fan but wow, can you imagine standing in a room with thousands booing you like that? The hate from the Trump fans is huge. It's easier to be silent and to sit to resist the hate, it's much harder to stand and speak, and keep speaking. And not waiver.

@The Albatross - Trump and the RNC are completely one and the same now. It's horrible! :(
The roll call request was NOT from "Never Trumpers"... and it was within the rules and they just walked away from the podium... for over an hour.
It was within the rules, and it was also lead by GOP delegates that advertised themselves as #nevertrump in the primary election process to pick delegates. Following the rules and being against Trump are not polar opposites, but are usually the same thing within the GOP. But the RNC... who just leaves the stage in the middle of a vote? Who even does that? Well, they do.:(

I'm conventioned out. I hope the Trump speech tonight doesn't stir up acts of hate and violence in his followers.

Naw it's not the death of the party, it's the death of the grass roots, constitutional conservatives in the party. We're/I'm a red headed step child now and the rules set by Pribus under the RNC cement it. Trump is now the "establishment" candidate, yet so is Clinton... and I expect the DNC convention next week will have some moments of it's own.

@The Albatross welcome to the club from an official red headed step child. ;) Get glasses and freckles that wont quit and you'll be a bullied tri - fecta. (oh wait, thats me )

Ok sorry to go off topic for a second, couldnt resist a chance to lighten the mood of this thread. My husband thought they were booing trump when he saw briefly a clip on news today. I had to tell him it wasnt what he thought sadly.

Well last night after Ieft here I had posted a quote someone said about educating in schools to prevent ignorance and hate that fuels trumps supporters. A brother in law wrote to me how I should support him over hillary because of her track record. Please note that this man is the father of an openly bi daughter, and we also have two nieces who are out lesbians.

my reply as follows:

i dont want eiether of them but especially not him. too much hate is stirred up by him. I dont see his presidency as a safe place for anyone who isnt white, isnt straight, whose marriage is same sex, women in general etc. and having a mental illness as well as having been forced to have an abortion for medical reasons way before I met Steve, do you agree that I should go to jail along with other women who have been raped, beaten, had their life threatened if they didnt do it by the man that got them pregnant?

If you hate those women, in situations like I mentioned above, then you also hate and reject me. him becoming president does not seem a safe path towards mending our conflicts. Not saying that she will be better at it, but people learn to be intolerant, they learn from family, society, church, state, who to like and care for.

And learning to accept instead of hating on all sides, white, black, male, female, transgender, gay, straight etc is why I reposted this.

I have not heard anything back, so I am hoping I gave him something to think on.
