Exit polling showed 27 percent of voters wanted a strongman.

Well, I think Americans are just simply fed up and want someone, anyone, to help.

Trump did do good campaigning, great campaigning, the last few weeks.

Talk about making history (which I do not agree with in any way shape or form). But many talk about making history. All polls had him loosing the entire time and he stayed ahead the entire time.

He has never been a politician or in the military.

I think that Obama's administration did more harm then good and any good is over taken by all the harm. And he has record number of executive order's which throws out checks and balances and just put something in by just sheer power.

Personally I am a registered Rep that was rooting for Clinton in the end (as lesser of two evils) but can understand why this happened.

I think Americans are sick of being bombed and shot at, being paid less now then 17 yrs ago, having to divorce spouses to get much need healthcare because you can't under ObamaCare. And just simply want change.

I do think America has forgetten "We The People" and looking for someone to fix it alone. But I can see how that happened from the past Adminnistration. Executive order is putting stuff in by yourself. I can't blame Americans for this. I really can't and can understand it.

I personally say give the man a chance. Judge him by what he does as President.

I gave that to Obama. I would have given it to Clinton and I give that to Trump.

scout, I'm totally with you on those points. Lets hope he at least appears to mellow. We have to take our tiny crumbs where we can get them. But I'm with you about who the man really is and what his pathologies are. Regardless of what he decides to show or not. People like him are calmest when they are winning and getting LOTS of attention and ego feeding. That can only last so long. And that has no impact on whether or not there is any substance at all under the "shiny" (blghhh!?) surface. Or what they might get up to behind the scenes. That's if he controls himself in front of the scenes. A huge enormous ask!

They always use this word "change" and it usually equals a negative change. I hate how vague politicians are. I don't think this will be good for America. I guess time will tell..

Hil's "basket of deplorables" would not answer or respond to pollsters. Sometimes with a skewed media it's easier not to feed the beast. Only my mister took polling calls and they were from the DNC about why he (a life long Dem) switched parties. For myself I was ticked at the RNC and straight up told them "none of yo' bidness and it will be a cold day before I donate for a good long while".

The people have spoken. This time.
