At least that would be kind of funny, and more sane than Trump!

Real Judge Judy quote: "Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining."

With the way Trump picks other people, it probably be some non-lawyer type (because the justices do not even have to be law school grads) with a history of aggression towards women and hatred of minorites... like his campaign manager.

The next president will likely be able to nominate several justices. Yikes!

@scout86

I think you're trying to give us nightma....scratch that, night TERRORS!

Lol.

Panicked the other day. Was assured that we could indeed move to Canada if trump is elected. (I mean I already have two strikes against me.) Not sure if they wanted to assuage my fears or don't think trump has a snowballs chance in hell.

I hate to sound.....whatever. But, my stance against hatred is so damn strong that I want nothing to do with anyone who supports Trump in any way. I'm sure I'll lose a few people along the way. In the end, I don't care because it will make room for people who actually give a damn about standing up for what's right.

Eve, if by some horrible miracle Trump is elected, Canada might build a wall to keep us all out.

Just kidding. I don't think Canada would do that.

We're about 200 miles south of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Nice city. I had a college friend from there. Only problem is, would our SS benefits continue if we lived in another country? Or is that question moot because Trump would do away with SS, at least disability?

Read an article tonight. (MSNBC?)

Bully-Meister Trump is now saying to expect rioting if he doesn't get the nomination.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander. WE weren't rioting, merely protesting (a constitutional right) but for rioters? Arrest them and throw them in jail so that they get a criminal record. Waaah waaah you won't be able to get a job. <rolls eyes>

My dad told me he's proud of me for taking a personal stand. (I'd probably be taking a physical stand by protesting if I didn't have PTSD. Can't risk retraumatization.) He was a protestor in the 60's and told me about his protest activities. (I had no idea.)

I don't necessarily believe that non violent protest can get the job done. Americans are so complacent with their place in the world that if non violent protest was the only avenue, many would still remain blind to the path we're headed down. Sometimes people need a wake up call. Don't get me wrong. I do not believe in violence. However, if that is what is needed to awaken this country and stop someone who could very well start WWIII, then it is a necessary evil.

Violent protest to stop the next hitler? Hell yes.

I say this in light of recent events. North Korea stating they could flatten Manhattan with a hydrogen bomb. A potential leader who gets joy out of pushing his weight around and making people mad. I'm not being paranoid when I say that we could have a worldwide crisis on our hands.

Sorry Mr Ben Carson, it's NOT JUST 4 years if trump is a bad leader. For a brilliant surgeon you sure are short sighted. Please stick to what you know best.

This is all very terrifying. We are to the point where we are taking our constitutional freedoms for granted. We have no appreciation for how good we have it compared to many oppressed areas of the world. (No not perfect, but indeed a better quality of life than some areas of the world).

And to risk it all with THIS GUY?!?

If he's saying it like it is and millions of Americans believe the same, then I'm disgusted (understatement) by my fellow countrymen.

Something to keep in mind is that Trump's support, from voters, so far, is less than 50% of the people who voted in Republican primaries and caucuses. SOME, but I would think not all, of those people will vote for him if he gets the nomination. But there are a LOT of other people who won't. But, there's a chance that Clinton, if she's the nominee of the Democrats, is a polarizing enough individual that a lot of people won't want to vote for HER.....

I think we need to rethink the whole nominating process. Right now, it's totally up to the 2 major parties and they have some kind of odd and convoluted ways of doing things. I'm fine with them getting to pick THEIR nominee any way they want to, but we need to have a way to include people who don't belong to the 2 major parties in the process too. The parties can do what ever crazy and corrupt thing they want, but we need to find a way to get the will of the people into the process much much earlier, so we don't keep ending up choosing the lesser of 2 evils.

To anyone considering the path of violent protests to oppose Trump and his followers, check out the data on what is historically the most effective way to topple even a full blown dictatorship: Dead Link Removed

There may be a time for civil wars, which is what violent protests are, but I believe we must exhaust fully the ability of peaceful resistance to radically change a country.
