All members would we well aware of the Personal Message (PM) system used here. You can send a PM to one or several users at once and read responses, all individually.
Well... xenforo software takes that approach except makes them a Personal Conversation (PC). Another name? No. They actually are personal conversations, as you can invite members to have a conversation. Yes, you read that correctly. Instead of sending the same message to multiple users, you send one message and invite user/s to the conversation, all of which as they respond, those responses become visibile to everyone who is part of the conversation.
If you're having a conversation with someone, then need to bring someone else into it, then the conversation starter can invite another to the conversation so they are now part of it. The only people who can "always" invite people to the conversation, whether the starter or recipient, are staff, usually required if one cannot answer the question, they may bring another staff member into the discussion to answer it.
All your current PM's will be imported into the system and become a PC.
You don't have an inbox and sent box though, instead you have a PC feed. Which means each PC is identified by the starters avatar. You can quickly see what you have started and what has been sent to you...
