I just want to say to everyone who has posted... Thank you so so much! I love my fiance very much and getting feedback from people who know what he's going thru and how I feel has saved our relationship. Im very grateful! I hope you continue to post. The more ideas the better. It seems that a lot of you can express what he is feeling better than he can. He is still new to treatment and still working on ways to cope that work for him, so having the advice from someone who has been dealing for a much longer time is a blessing.

I just goggled PTSD books for children and there are quite a few. I do know a veteran wrote a book specifically for his children called "why is daddy so mad?" Probably a good place to start. ✌ &❤

@Jeromy's13 Someone else wrote (I don't remember who) that you have the right to expectations.....just temper them with the knowledge your sufferers illness may mean he/she may not meet them fully. With this is mind, you will find options that will work for everyone in your family including your sufferer.

It's a tough road we are on, both for the sufferer and his/her supporter. We do the best we can knowing we do not have the power to fix nor change them. All we can do is love them and be there for them.

Keep reading all our stories. Use what works for you and discard the rest. Most of all, take care of you. You can't be there for him if you're in the same rabbit hole.

When I have someone with the knowledge you do to turn to its like a load off my shoulders. I feel so much more relaxed about my relationship now.

Thank you, I also googled and found the same results. I think i am going to check out barnes and noble and buy a few for my kids. I think they might be good bedtime stories for him and the kids to read together.

You say he's new to treatment. The early stages of treatment can be extremely difficult and painful. It may get worse before it gets better. Just be prepared for that too.
