New Here
I'm 26, a full time student, and I frequently experience symptoms of PTSD ranging from suicidal ideations and depression to exaggerated startle response and disturbed sleep.

I'll wrote more here later.

There should be a button that states: in some cases.

I can only say that every person is different, and the treatment can vary. What works for one, may or may not work for another. For me, cannabis has indeed been helpful. It helps me to deal with my symptoms (especially the eating disorders) and my physical pain- headaches, post trauma shoulder, neck and back pain, gasteroenterology, etc . It helps me when my mood is dark- it brings some light back into my life. However, while I am not in the states I do not have that resource- Germany is not the same as California, especially as an expat. And I manage my symptoms with other (just as) natural treatments.

It is a good topic that I have not seen much discussion about.

Hi docochoa,
Welcome to the forum. Look around, use the search function for specific topics. There is lots of great information and experience here. Have you been diagnosed with PTSD officially? It is well worth reading through Anthony's post on "self diagnosis is not an option" if not. Working through the VA can be a trial - but they have without any doubt the best PTSD treatment folks going - at least in my neck of the woods (NoCal).

I am 29, full time student, also was a combat medic. I just got out in 2010. I feel super alone at school b/c I am not 18 and I also want to smack the shit out of people on a daily basis. I do not understand how people can not know that they are being so ignorant and disrespectful. How long have you been a full time student?

I think a lot of ex military suffer with that issue Angela... certainly took me time to readjust to civilian life and being more tolerate of ignorance. When they don't understand, they can't know what military know... that was my end conclusion. Especially if a veteran and seen combat... tends to make one readjust to what is important in life versus the petty shit you see civilians fight over.

I got an alert email after I posted that message to the female that posted the message about being a student. It said something about I was quoting. I was going to reply to yours by hitting the reply button but I was afraid I would get alerted again. So yesterday I got a trophie for posting a message and an alert for the same message so I think I am at -9 points? Is this like weight watchers? Going to school in an hour....Finals

I'm an ex combat medic as well (much older than you) Very new to treatment, and very new to dealing with PTSDin a more healthy way. Looking forward to following your posts.
