Fictional Characters Who Really Ought To Have PTSD

Wow, I'm not a fan of 24 but that sounds like one hell of a traumatic experience.

How about James Bond then? Not even close to Jack, but he may qualify.

Not to be a total dork or anything, but what about Hamlet? My students always ask me to "diagnose" Hamlet...(They think I'm almost a doctor just because I can use an epi-pen) LOL

I've come up with complex PTSD with intrusive thoughts--(he sees and hears his dad's ghost)--as well as a touch of OCD--(he's way too obsessed with revenge). Could also be borderline personality if you consider how he is with Ophelia...hmm...

Hamlet sounds like he's beyond help. Haven't read the book myself, but have read descriptions of him. You're not a total dork, but I'll one up you in that department...

Battlestar Galactica. Seems that the women tend to develop PTSD, while the men just get angry. Well, Starbuck gets pretty angry too...

Scooby-Doo. Now here's a dog who jumped into his owners arms anytime he "thought" something frightening was about to happen...and we won't even get into all that pot smoking in the mystery mobile.....

Did you ever watch Underdog as a kid? What was his girlfriend's name...Polly? You know, the one who was always being tied to the train tracks until Underdog could save her? That's sure to mess a person--or dog--up a bit.

How about Harry Potter? He should have it! Actually I thought he had it for years, all those frightening nightmares and flashbacks, but then of course it turned out (spoiler alert!) that that was due to a bit of Voldemort's soul being stuck in him. Sort of metaphor though isn't it? I thought JK Rowling did a really good job of describing trauma (after Sirius' death too). Also, to me the dementors are a metaphor for depression.

i think tom and jerry must have some major ptsd after all the frying pans, hammers, etc that have been used on one another over the past 25 years!

I don't know if it is PTSD or not, but Piglet certainly has some sort of anxiety disorder.

I've maintained that all the Winnie the Pooh characters have something. Christopher Robin thinks his stuffed animals talk... Eyore is depressed, Rabbit has OCD, Tigger is hyperactive... hehe.

I've been watching Heroes lately so I'll throw that one in. Especially the cheerleader character after all she goes through and lives.
