Fictional Characters Who Really Ought To Have PTSD

I vote for Alex Cross from the James Patterson books. Seems like in every one of the books, he is either exposed to or victim of horrific serial killers. Or his kids are or his girlfriends.

- Childhood neglect (involved in child labour racket)
- Witnessed death of mother as teenager
- Was working for some kind of advisory council
- Suffered third degree burns in work-related accident (possible employer negligence)
- Previous employer has not provided compensation for work-related accident
- Previous employment terminated as a result of employer/employee conflict, and inappropriate behaviour allegations (infanticide etc...)
- Pregnant partner died following work-related accident


Presenting Issues

Psychological

Externalises blame - Harbours deep resentment towards an Obi-wan ?? who he claims tried to steal his partner and was responsible for the work-related accident. (Described alarming revenge fantasy)

Obsessive compulsive - Wears the same clothes every day.

Control issues - Wants to be in charge
- Wants to 'rule the empire'

Mood disturbance - Admits to having 'dark-side'

Emotionally constricted - Has difficulty expressing love/affection
- Puts on a 'mask' for the outside world

Behavioural

Aggression - Describes 'using force' to get what he wants.
- Describes 'striking out' uncontrollably when angry


Physical

Psycho-somatic - Severe asthmatic condition
- Alopecia


Social/Familial

'Difficult relationship with two children'
- Son seldom visits; when he does - 'they fight'
- Has offered son employment - he has declined
- son is going through 'rebellious' phase
- son engages in frequent risk-taking behaviour; also uses 'force' to get what he wants (secondary trauma???)

- Daughter does not acknowledge him as her father


Comments

Speaks highly of new employer (Empire??) which has covered all medical expense and offers a promising career progression.
