Fifty Shades Trilogy

IMHO, the second and third books are the better of the trilogy. The third book I actually enjoyed the most, as the sex scenes were down, the action was heightened.

This trilogy is out selling even the hunger games, and it only got released earlier this year from memory.

Okay, my curiousity got the better of me and I started the trilogy. Sexual abuse is the origins of my PTSD so I was curious to know how I would react to it as a grown-up and if reading such "literature" would be triggering. OMG-I was blushing right from the beginning as I am not very experienced myself. This really opened my eyes and expanded my education. I did have to stop reading for a little bit because I was starting to be bothered by the explicit descriptions, but I am more intrigued by the relationship itself and its nuances than the sex itself. I am surprised that considering how graphic it is that it is so readily available.

Well done Kimba... it really is quite an addictive story IMHO. Good on you for giving it a go...

I read the first one, and was surprised to find that two girls in my office had also read it. It felt like I was reading something written from a man's perspective, full of sex, a little predictable, and as one of the girls in my office said, made me feel like shaking her for being so naive, and gullible. It certainly made me blush, at times.

I was walking through target the other day, and found a copy among the teenage book section. I'm not really sure it's really appropriate that it's so freely available.

Still after reading your reviews that it's not all just about the sex in the next two books, I might just get the second book.

I have finished all three books (and did my yard work too!). Hey, I needed some distraction. I was a little disappointed at how fast they "wrapped it up" so to speak. I don't want to wreak it for anyone. The author totally glosses over the physical and emotional changes she goes through and his reactions which would have made for some entertaining reading I am sure. This made it seem like suddenly he was fine and dandy just a little over protective. Maybe there will be another?

I am hoping also Kimba that she continues and expands on the life beyond... as you said, the epilogue was a little rushed.

Ok - almost finished with the first book and I am actually enjoying it quite a bit. I'm over the sex scenes - they aren't bothering me too much. But I'm really enjoying the dynamics of their relationship. I think I will definitely get the others. It's giving me a nice break from all the emotional things going on in my life :-).

I am about half way through the first book but just couldn't seem to get into it. I felt it didn't have much of a story, just lots of sex which I am not comfortable with at this point in my life.

Everyone I know that has read the series says to stick with it because the second and last books are the better ones. I took a break from it to read something else which I have almost finished so I will get back to Mr. Grey later this week. I now feel like I'm missing out on something if I don't finish the series!!

I liked the first book but was disappointed by the second and third books in the series. I found the writing style very immature, and the sex scenes were bland and unrealistic for literotica. Not to mention my maiden name is Steele so it was frustrating that Anastasia's character was annoying and ignorant. But hey it's a top seller so wht do I know!!
