Finished Master's Degree

I recently completed all of the requirements for a Master of Science degree, including a year of research, and writing a thesis! I graduated this month.

Despite all of the flashbacks, nightmares, depression, and general emotional pain, I was able to do this. I think it goes to show how helpful treatment and support can be. Ten years ago my symptoms were so bad that I could not function in daily life let alone write a Master's thesis.

I usually don't share this sort of information, but I want to let people know that even though there is no cure, there is the possibility of dramatic improvement.

We should all believe things will get better, for without hope for a better future what is the point of anything. I hope many more will be able to stand where you are now and feel what you are feeling.

Thank you for sharing this! It is so encouraging to hear that you got through it. I have wanted to get another degree, but can't fathom the managing the thesis or any related pressures.
