Getting A Therapist

I am 16, turning 17 real soon and I currently feel like I need to speak to a therapist about several issues. I used to go to one when I was younger, but I she was not a great therapist and would even talk about me to her co-workers. Since then I've been a bit off about therapist, but lately I've felt the need to find someone to talk to about my issues. I am a bit nervous to ask my mom if it is okay to see one or not and am not sure how to bring the subject up.

I think it's great your willing to give it another try. A great therapist can make a profound difference. Could you say to your mom, 'sometimes I feel like it would be helpful for me to have someone to talk with about things'?
What do you fear your moms reaction will be?

I agree with @Gia1019 , try to think what your mom's reaction might be and if all that's stopping you is embarrassment or doubts about how good can it do, then try to ask. I spent my youth wishing I could talk to someone and didn't get to therapy till my mid thirties and I regret it. I could have done so much better! There is no need to face it all alone when you really think what you need is some guidance or someone to share a hard time with. Ask yourself what's the worst that could happen and see if that is something you think you can handle or if it makes it worth it.
