Glad to see CPTSD is included here..

Within the last 3 years or so, I read Pete Walkers book, CPTSD: From surviving to thriving. I'm not much of a reader these days, and didn't read the entire book, but it finally let me know what I've suffered from most all of my life.

I'm still suffering but I don't blame or hate myself for it anymore. I've learned to be kinder to myself and try to be my own best friend. I've come to believe that I'm the only one qualified to be my best friend, make the best decisions for myself, etc...

Can be triggering at times as he is so accurate
But really eye opening
I have great hope of healing

I'll tell ya, nothing but good will come from you reading that one if your experience is anything like mine. Yes deff triggering and exhausting at times. He recommends putting it down for awhile, I did. It was the first time in my life i KNEW who I was and what happened to me. I've put a LOT of pieces together from there. Understanding the role I played, and the differing roles of others. It only helped. I can heal from improving some relationships, I can heal from walking away from others. It's been lonely. I guess if I had one word that would be it. But that was before I read the book and quit my partying too. With the drinking mainly it's one HUGE problem I don't have to suffer consequences from anymore. If I go off the rails or get angry/ passionate I know it's the real me and so do others. That instills some faith and confidence in what I'm doing and why, in myself and for others to see...

Wishing you best of luck from here. There is now hope, some kind of self love, with that we can go a long long way. Discover ourselves and our passions, have some kind of purpose.....
