We had a rope swing that my sister made for us. We would push each other in it, and really high. It was hung from a tree in the forest behind our house. I don't recall how she got it way up high onto that branch! But I sure am glad that she did. We loved playing in the forest in general. There was an old shed out there and we used to play house in it too. We kept a kitten in there for awhile, but when we ran out of tunafish, which we had been filching from mom's cupboards, we tried feeding it potato chips and it choked and died. None the less, I recall many happy days of us holding the kitten and it purring and purring inside our jackets. It was a well kept secret. I still feel awful about what happened to it though. We just didn't know any better! Our parents had forbidden us to have any pets except hamsters and guinea pigs, so a cat was such a temptation to us, that we could not resist it when a neighbor's cat had kittens. We had fish tanks too, I guess. Daddy kept them clean and all, so we never knew how much work goes into that! I keep fish tanks today too, but I sometimes lose fish. I hate that. I have yet to really understand why I have lost any of my fish. They are so delicate. None the less, seeing them swim around in their tanks has always made me happy!
