Hello. I am new to this site and was recently diagnosed with PTSD. I too have had seizures and I am on Keppra and Lamictal. To this day they do not know what caused my seizures. I was unaware that PTSD and seizures were related. They recently increased my Lamictal, so I'm not sure yet how it will affect me.

what kind of seizures have you and how were you diagnosed?i thought ptsd had more to do with non epelptic seizures,but you are in the right place to get information here!they start you off with a low dose and increase itweekly,if you can tolerate it

Hello. I had a grand mal seizure last June and a petit mal a few weeks later. They ran a myriad of tests and did not find a reason. After the first one they put me on 250 mg of Keppra, then increased my dosage to 500 mg. I just changed psychiatrists and she is the first to diagnose me with PTSD. I was in a 20 year abusive marriage. I regularly have violent nightmares, so she prescribed Prazosin, which has helped somewhat. Any help/information would be appreciated. It is helpful to find a place where you aren't told to just get over it. Thanks for your comment.
