I'm sorry to say that there aren't very many resources available for male victims of domestic viol...

@Mytime @EveHarrington Thank you for your warm welcome.

@somerandomguy abuse is not current thank you for the link. Its been years, no help. Wife using child custody / support to continue her onslaught, and she will not allow me to speak to my children. No matter how much time passes the flashbacks never dulling from their sharp, vivid, exhausting, stings of hopelessness.

I hope these types of forums help both women & men find the answers they need.

Hey, welcome. I'm sorry, that's absolutely horrible about your wife.
Re: the gender thing on this forum, I'm a woman who was abused by a woman. I feel like I don't fit either category of woman abused by man, or man abused by woman.
No one here has ever made me feel less-than because my abuser was a woman, or because I'm gay. I was honestly pretty worried when I first signed up that that's what would happen.
I wish there were more resources for men available. In Aus where I'm from, most sites have a limited section for men, but it's under a bloody big website banner of "help for perpetrators", which is about the most insensitive thing I can think of doing to male victims.

Welcome! My partner has also suffered a lot of DV from (two) exes. I've suffered at the hands of my mother and watched my Dad and other men emotionally abused by her and my Dad and his children, from his second wife, suffered emotional abuse from my stepmother, as well.
My partner has gone through years of abuse, both physical, emotional and legal (concocting false crime allegations to cause him all kinds of problems) and both of us have suffered parental alienation (and of course our children have and are suffering from this too) from our exes, as well. So you are definitely among people who understand and share those kinds of wounds and stresses.
It's terrible. Very, very painful and isolating to go through this kind of stuff and the shame is truly horrendous. I hope you find some good support here. Take care. It can be alleviated, even though, unfortunately, resources for men in this situation are so often woefully inadequate. You are not alone, here, though @double ii .

what types of resources are there for men? thus far I've not found many.

Hello,
You are not alone. There is help for you and other men just like you. I tried to post a link; however, they would not allow me to add a link to this post. The link I was trying to list has all the resources available for victims of domestic violence, and YES, men as well. There are more resources for men than from previous years.

The link I was trying to leave is to the domestic shelters org. Try to look them up. They have a website and all you have to do is just enter your zip code and it will list all the domestic violence organizations in your area.

Good Luck!!! I'll be thinking about you! Let me know if you need me my help.
