Sufferer Hello

Hi everyone, I found this fourm earlier today after a particularly rough day. A little about my self and why im here. Im former Army, I was an Infantryman with two deployments in Iraq, and one Afghanistan. I have a family, but their becoming less supportive. I don't completely blame them because I've been getting worse. I thought this sight looked like support group, and place to vent.

I'm sorry to hear you're a ptsd sufferer and that your family is getting less supportive. I think it's a great step that you're looking around for help.

I do see this website as a form of a support group and personally I think the people here are amazing. Understanding, accepting and helpful. I hope you will have a similarly great experience.

Hi Woodsman. However supportive family and friends are, there are limits to what they can do for us and they have needs of their own. The more out-of-control my own symptoms are, the greater their own needs are when faced with my struggle. They are friends and family, not therapists. There is an awful lot of this that we simply have to work out on our own. My therapy network is far more effective in helping me work through the yaddahs of my blahs.

Thanks everyone, its nice to have an outlet outside of my family and a couple close friends. It feels good to vent, and I'm glad I found this site and the vet site.

Welcome woodsman! This is a great site that I just recently found also. Lots and lots of information and support here. My vet was Iraq also. Hope you enjoy the site and find some new friends along the way.
