Can you consult a lawyer so you don't have to contact them and ask them questions? If you can't afford it, you might be able to find one willing to pro bono...

Yes. This is something I am working through right now. This is of the utmost importance for your own mental health. As a matter of fact, when you get away you may be shocked to find that those diagnoses don't seem all that relevant anymore. I know I get symptomatic in direct relation to how I am being treated in 'la familia'.

Not sure if you understand the family dynamic - if you have done research on it? Also worth mentioning is how families keep people tied to the family by using double binds. I found it super helpful to understand why I felt (feel) like I am constantly trapped. And it was because I was.

I am doing my best to plan my escape now. Like, my final escape. It will take a while - but I do know what I am doing and why I am doing it. Before I felt like I was just blindly attempting to explain myself and the more I explained, as @Mach123 noted - the worse it got. I don't naturally keep my hand close to my chest - so to speak - I am pretty trusting. Which isn't good.

If you have hostile family and family money in Trusts - you ought to have a lawyer who can keep an eye on things for you and ensure you are not being taken advantage of (financially). A lawyer will act on your behalf in all things money related if you so instruct. Your husband should be able to see this too imho.

Do you have a therapist who can assist you with your diagnosis and help you to learn how to live completely independently from your family? Is this what you want to do?
