He's Closing In

My abuser has slowly started tightening the noose in very sneaky, subtle ways.

  • He's taken a job that requires him to work at a location across the street from where I live on a weekly basis in spite of it being a 1/3 less what he usually makes.
  • His ex wife's parents suddenly live within 2 miles of where I do, in spite of always having lived in another part of our large metropolitan area.
  • His ex's brother has moved into the same apartment complex as I live in, directly around the corner of the building.
  • He goes to a SAA meeting within 3 miles of where I live also on a weekly basis.
  • When I have to deal with him, he touches me at least once every time.
Am I being paranoid or am I right to feel closed in on? I no longer feel safe in my own home.

Sorry you are going through this and have to come into contact with your abuser.

Have you told him you do not want to be touched by him? Do you have to deal with him, if not could you get a restraining order? If you have to be in contact with him and you do not feel safe, best in public places and with witnesses and/or a friend.

Document everything.

I am not sure about the ex wife's parents and why they would have any loyalty to this to this guy so that may be just a coincidence, but the other stuff sounds a bit ify. I take it this is not a small town you are living in?

If you feel so unsafe, just notify the police of your concerns, saying you have nothing concrete as of yet but that this guy has previously abused you, so they are aware and if anything escalates they can act upon it.

Hope that helps. I am sure there are others on here who can make some more useful suggestions

Since this is anonymous. . .just want to say. . .sometimes holding a weapon when you tell them to back the f*ck off can communicate your message more clearly.

up until the point that the weapon gets taken away from you, if they are of a mind to do so. Then you've just handed them a weapon. bringing out a weapon should be a last resort, IMHO, especially if you haven't spent time training with said weapon.

Can you move? I have had to move to get away from relatives before. Be safe.
