Hi my name is Jey and I'm 15 I have only recently been diagnosed with PTSD and I just got out of the awful situation I was in a few months ago. I was in this situation for 5ish years. I also have depression and anxiety and have frequent panic attacks and flashbacks. I have a lot of triggers and I'm really hoping one of you has advice on how to fight the panic attacks and lessen the effects of the triggers.:p:inlove:
 
Hi Jay, please be easy on yourself. It seems like your current road is a healthy one. You have been diagnosed through an assessment I assume and are now seeking support knowledge and understanding here. You should be proud of these huge steps. Just go easy, get a good trauma therapist if you are able. Nice to meet you...welcome.
 
Hi jey... I'm so sorry you had to endure that.. But I'm glad you are out of it now.

There are alot of grounding techniques... 54321... 5 things you see, 4 things you hear, 3 things you can touch. 2 things you can smell, 1 thing you can taste... I think that's right.. You can get loads of information on Internet...
I think they will help greatly with your panic attacks.
Triggers are something you learn over time.. What to avoid, what doesn't feel right.
I'm glad your in therapy.. Medication will help greatly....
This place is good to for support, hugs, wisdom and generally a knowledge.. These people all have PTSD, CPTSD, they offer help and support. Please take care of you.... Lots and lots of self love.....

lessen the effects of the triggers.

For me the hard science, logical knowledge based study has been helpful. Gaining some understanding on things like panic, nausea, fear, hypervigilance, flashbacks in whatever form, conversion disorder like symptoms..etc. Understanding they all make sense to a traumatized brain makes me feel a little less crazy.

I guess then we need to start digging into ourselves with a qualified trauma therapist. I'm just starting that myself.
