Been hyperventilating past week . Just had session with T & she recommended/suggested I go into hospital for a few days.

Suggestions please?

I can't confidently suggest either way. I am not a doctor. She sounds really concerned for you.

I am here for you while you process.

It could be a good thing for you so that you can get help. If I can remember correctly you've been self harming recently aswell which is a very bad sign. Why wouldn't you want to go?

I know you've really been struggling lately. Hospitalization really did me a world of good when I was at my lowest, so my suggestion is to do it. Sometimes you just have to put yourself in the care of others, and that's OK.
How long were you in for?

One flew over the cuckoo‘s nest. Even though it’s “voluntary“ I am concerned though force me to stay longer than I want to

You can really learn a lot in IOP. I went through a few years ago. My therapist wants me to go again actually. It's a commitment which is something I try to avoid but I recognize it my be for the best.

Hope you find your way through this. Nothing to worry about too much.

I understand your concerns you'd have to speak to them about it. But I do think you need help because your self harming.

I had the same concerns when my therapist asked me to go in for an assessment for hospitalization. I still have that fear every time I go into my sessions after having a week of suicidal ideations. Though Intensive Outpatient Hospitalization helped a lot. They focused on DBT skills which helped me develop alternatives and coping skills. Since it was an outpatient program I was able to go home where I felt safe-ish. For me what was hesitant was having other people know that I had to go to this program. If you have the same fear outpatient is better, and takes up the same out of time as if you're in school/work. Regardless of what they decide, I'm sure it'll help.

I did voluntarily go one time I felt I was in harm's way. Turned out I was extremely dehydrated and they kept me over night and directed me tk a free counseling program within the hospital. I was there one night

The counseling was temporary and she helped me make some tough life decisions.
