One more thing: I have been thinking about this a little more. Those who warned me were obiovusly right to. The last thing I want to do is stick my nose into a situation where, honestly, I only have a surface understanding. I am just happy that he trusts me.
You just don't want to miss an instance where you could give someone a gentle nudge, you know? Because when he shared with me what he spoke to these new MH professionals about, I wondered if he wanted to me to talk about the fact that he hadn't mentioned a lot of the other things. I didn't know if he was giving me cues that he wanted me to respond to.
But I do have a lot to learn when it comes to the difference between supporting and trying to get a little too involved.
It is enlightening to see the other side of the coin, as it also helps me not to subconsciously expect too much from the good people around me, to make up for what I felt I hadn't got from others.
