General How Do I Deal? Husband Iraq Veteran

Bobbie,

So often we feel :wall: like this. As a spouse of a PTSD army ranger I am familiar with the feeling. Meds aren't always the total answer. But sometimes they get u through to point where finding the answers will then help them get off the meds. Being willing to recognize the situation, then acknowledge what has happened, is happening, and is going to happen are all part of the healing steps that are in practice. None of it is going to be easy or quick.

Lots of hugs to you & yours

Take Care

update

Just a bit of an update...
We have had some deep discussions in the last couple of weeks and realized if he misses more that 2 of his group therapy sessions, he starts to get anxious and irritated. He must go to at least one a week! The doc has pushed him to realize he won't be able to stay in the Navy and he is slowly starting to deal with that. (that is a huge issue in our house!) The doc also is going to put him on some differant meds. It will help out a bit on the side effects. The fatigue, lack of drive and weight gain should start to dissapate. To add on to all the PTSD, while he was in Iraq, he caught Q fever ([DLMURL]http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvrd/qfever/[/DLMURL]). The side effects of that come and go as they please. We are taking baby steps and hopefully this will get us on the right track.
