How to work with co-workers who hate each other's guts?

I cannot do work seven days per week.

I become totally exhausted by doing seven days of whole day training, lesson preparation and some type of teaching throughout the seven days per week.

I now had a sleep (after sleeping all last night) and I feel so much better. I was beyond tired. There was nothing left inside.

I will keep with the grants writing, but I will withdraw from the teaching part. It is a waste of two and a half days per week.

Seriously I wanted to quit today. Sheesh! I need to build up some more resilience. The 85 year old thought my text that I sent at 8.30am saying I will see you soon meant I was on my way. She gave me one sheet of paper for Friday and told me she had given me all the other work on Monday (she hadn't) and I just effusively thanked her. Because she did it in front of everyone else trying to get a rise out of me. Then she was uncertain so she then she came back and gave me the rest of the stuff 10 minutes later. It was weird. Once again I thanked her. I don't know if she is aware of what she is doing or not. The 65 year old didn't even greet me today, so I just ignored the whole situation. I got in at 10am when the other woman I was working with today arrived. So she is terribly disorganised as well. But at least she is not like the other two? Anyway the other head woman came in and went through the basics and I really thought if they had shown me this three months ago I would have actually been able to write a lot of grants but anyhow. They are not really that competent as an organisation. So four weeks until the term ends and I am done.

But maybe the 85 year old is just not with it, and like is just terribly disorganised? I have no idea what is going on with her. It was so weird. Normal people can be so weird. They don't own their stuff apologise or anything like that. It was just weird. So very weird.

No wonder the 65 year old has lost her shit. Like seriously I was just telling B about it and ended up in hysterical laughter, and he was really funny, saying it was like dealing with Dad but with an added squeaky voice.

The 65 year old wasn't speaking to me today. It was wonderful not having to listen to her complain about the 85 year old. They are best buddies at the moment, united against me. So really it is working for me. Because they are getting on so well because usually they spend the whole day arguing and sniping at each other. It's really draining to be around.

Sadly this has raised morale at work.

:hilarious:

You may or may not have meant this bit to be funny. But I am just cracking up over here.

I was definitely going for laughs with this one!

I am so glad that someone got it. Some people have noticed that things are not as tense and they were trying to work it out, and it was so hilarious to hear them have no idea what is going on, right in front of them.

People are really so weird! They are so weird! It is all terribly strange! And to be so unaware of what is going on, kind of beggars belief! And some of it is just so downright hilariously disturbing but also completely hysterically funny!

These two are viewed as being quite mad by some people who work there. I don't comment either way, I just keep doing things. It is really quite bizarre some of the stuff that occurs. I am never sure if it's okay to laugh or not at times. Part Charlie Chaplin, part Monty Python, part something else I can't quite put my finger on it.

So I have to think of a way of leaving on a high note. Like I am so amazed by her ideas that I want to turn them in to a text book (and her ideas are great so that could be a great way of dealing with her via email, and rarely having to see her ever again?) or I could move interstate? Take off with Star Trek Discovery (Michael Burnam is really hot)? Or run off to join the circus? Who knows! There's no point in saying anything - neither of them are going to change at this point in their lives. I don't even think the 85 year old remembers what she told you half an hour ago. In fact she can change her mind mid sentence. That was so weird what she did today. I should just get a body camera, and I would have a great comedy hit on my hands?

I could start a thread "How do you quit a job on a high note when your co-workers are completely crazy and hate each other's guts?"

I am going to get presents for the 85 year old and the 65 year old at the end of the term, and go out with a positive note.

I applied for another job last night.

Once I free up from this commitment in four weeks.

I have four other potentially better paying jobs lined up.

I will focus on getting funds for the 85 year old's book, which is awesome! I will leave on a high note.

So I am going to focus on getting funding for the 85 year old's books, because what she has written is inspired, and it could help so many other teachers if we turned it into an accessible textbook. It would be a contribution to a generation of teachers. So I am going to focus on that.

So the first stage of strategic positive withdrawal from a toxic workplace has taken place. I am slowly moving towards totally positive disengagement!

Positive email to head woman 1 has taken place.

Now I need to create a program that I was asked to create, and send that in.

And write out a step by step plan how to do this as positively as possible.
