As if thunderstorms and lightenin isnt enough to gimme a a panic/anxiety attack Now we are in teh path of a friggen Hurricane. Anybody else out there have stress levels running high because of uncontrolled weather events. Trying to hang tough for the fam and not get stressed but wife whispers in my ear " Its ok honey you and Bailey are doing a great job taking care of us"
Am I that obvious????

To all those on the east coast of the US. I just check NY and NJ have approved by order of their respective Govenors Pets are welcome at the Shelters and temp housing areas. DO not leave them behind. I know during Katrina when we went down for relief efforts the biggest nusance was a pack of stray dogs. They went back to being primal and were eating anything they could find (use you mind no need to post that horror) Long story short I have a buddy in the Lousiana Guard who had to put several of them down with his weapon. Firing on K-9s is not something any Officer , National Guardsmen or other rescue folk want to do so please take em with you.... Nuff said

Those of us in Irene's path Take care be safe and God Bless if Bailey and I arent on for a while its cause we lost DSL or Power I'll keep ya'll informed as we go.

Love to all

Hey Tim,
I find being well informed helps me out allot. Like with the PTSD. Things are better now that I am in the know. I encourage you to log on to Weather Underground. Sending you the link. I am noting a fair bit of hype in the media and even from the President on this one. Hell, Floyd was the same exact storm in 99 and nobody batted an eye. 4.9 billion in damage and 57 people dead. But damage is always according to inflated insurance values and the deaths were people larking about outside. More than a few surfers I might add. Yup, dem hurricanes make for some tasty waves, but the undertow is a killer.

Are you more than 9ft above sea level??? And not living on the beach?? Then no worries mate.

The site I'm sending you is fantastic for weather freaks like myself. You can even set it up to monitor the nearest weather station and pretty much get live radar. Great stuff. Irene is just a puff, does not even have an eye. Just a worn out old girl.

Be cool, stay inside. Keep yourself informed from reliable sources.......

BTW. Mobile broadband is getting cheaper and cheaper these days. Then all you need is battery power.

I am pretty nervous. LUCKILY, this was the weekend that Bella was supposed to visit with us. She is here with me. Thank god. They are starting to let her come home more and more. She is almost done with fetching commands and the next step is stores and hopefully home for good after that. We shall see. Im not rushing the training. Just cant wait for her to be h ome. I think she is going to do very well for me. So far this weekend I have been calm. I was able to go to my sons football scrimmage with more people than normal around me. I was still rpetty nervous but not to the point where i had to leave. It is a work in progress. I just hope she really helps my anxiety for two reasons: One- she is my new partner for life and I love having her around and 2. So i can tell that dumbass therpaist, "see, i told your stupid ass i didnt need to be institutionalized." LOL.

Tim- If it gets bad, give me a call. (if the phoens are working)

I have been away for several days..Had to move out of my office, finish building a project...and freak out.

Since flying over NO in the cargo bay of a C-130 waiting to drop in, about an hour after Katrina hit. Whenever I hear about 'canes-a-coming I freak out. The nightmares increase, anxiety is in the red, Sleep—What is that?

—Tim—
The dogs..shit man the dogs, cats, cows, goats, chickens, iguanas, hamsters, pigs...the list goes on. Of course there was huge talk about the human cost of Katrina. But what about all the other furries? Nobody talked about that and drifting into the outlaying areas...well as you said, you can imagine.

I hope all of you on the Right Coast were safe and sound and that your habitations are still in good shape.

Well after several days of no power figured hell I'm on leave I might as well find family and friends, Went to Mass and saw friends at their condo, Then down to NYC to the Beaches to see a great friend of ours plus visit my mom ( Her ashes are scattered at beach 116) Then out to Long island to see my God-Mother. Insomnia was kickin my ass after the hurricane so I made the best of it. plus we lost power no use staying here.
Then first day back and a vicious thunderstorm hit last night. Maybe one of these days I will sleep. Last night I had taken a lunesta and still was woke up by the storm (First time that happened) Any way

Hope all are well and safe. Bailey and I should be around more often again now that power and internet is back. Take care and Godbless all
