I Am A Makeup Girl

My makeup isn't natural. I wear: Foundation both liquid and powder. Blush and bronzer. Eyeshadow, eyeliners (gel, pencil); these can change, sometimes more sometimes less. Today I am wearing a lot of eyeliner and eyeshadow. I wear luminizer and finishing power.

My lips are pretty simple. Just lip gloss today, in pink.

I use to wear more makeup when I worked at a makeup counter. Now I just wear some sort of liner and mascara. A little lipstick, sometimes gloss. My complexion isn't as nice as it use to be, sun damage, so I probably should wear a foundation but I feel funny when I wear it. Like it is too much.

I bought MAC for the first time today. I got a lipstick, lip liner, lip gloss, bag set. The color set is all in 'ruby woo' which is a retro bright red and reminds me of the red Marilyn Monroe would wear.

Shocked at my desire for color. I'm getting a bit braver with the bold color. I'm hoping next color will be a wine...

My fiancé's mother many years ago called makeup her 'war-paint' and I've cheerfully adopted that ethos ever since :ninja: Love. It.

I keep things fairly simple most of the time... Foundation, eyeliner, mascara, gloss.

But I'll also Cirque du Soleil or photo-shoot up from time to time. Most of the time on my own, but I'll get things done professionally occasionally. Like airbrushing flags over my eyes for Pride, or for dia de los muerte when I simply do not have the patience for all the dang detail work / hands are too shaky. Shoulda done that this year, but I got all stubborn about it.

If I'm not wearing makeup? I'm depressed as blazes. Can't even look at myself. It's a warning sign for me.

Red lipstick! Around the shade I've been wearing. It's a true red and I really love the 50's look. I'm thinking of buying all the eyeshadow in the video.

I think I can get the liquid liner down about 10% of the time and even then I still can only do a shaky wing. I'm thinking of going to a makeup store and asking a lady there to help show me how to do it. But I like this youtube channel, this lady is good at what she does.

If you want more basic she has that too:

But my basic isn't very basic...

I finally stumbled upon this thread.... funny because I just bought a buxom lip gloss set myself! I love that stuff! My purse is tiny so the big ones don't fit in there, but the minis do. I was SO tempted to get the bigger set that had 15 or so glosses but I restrained myself as it had a few colors I knew I wouldn't use.

I'm a total makeup junkie. My bathroom is packed, and then there's even more in my room. I'm never going to use it all! I think my favorite makeup product EVER is BB cream. Its simply amazing what that stuff can cover, as I have problem skin due to food allergies & sensitivities.

I love MAC and there is a CCO only 5 minutes away which can be dangerous! I'm pretty good in that I only get a few new products each year. I think what I love the most is that their products are PTSD proof. I can have a full blown crying episode and my eye makeup will still look good. That's never happened with any other brand.

I'm also a hair junkie, but just picked this up a few years ago. I never thought that shampoo made much of a difference until I tried Bumble & Bumble products. Their stuff is so expensive but its not so bad if you can get the salon gallon sizes. One big bottle will last me 3 years!

I've always wanted to wear bright lipstick but my lips are so thin that I don't think it would look good. I stick to glosses because they can fade and not look bad. Every time I've tried lipstick it never wears evenly so I just gave up. I have a fondness for glosses anyway as I used to sneak into my mother's makeup bag as a child and use her gloss, lol.
