when i first started having flashbacks, i didnt know what was going on, i thought i was just losing my mind. but than i learned that it was a flashback and i learned about grounding and stuff. when i have flashbacks it was really difficult to communicate and i started hyperventallating and shaking, anyone who saw me definately knew something was going on. but i feel like i might have done something with my arms during the flashback, like grabbed my neck or something like that, but im not sure if i did or not. i know i was shaking and acting wierd, but im not sure if i did some wierd movements also. is this a common occurance with flashbacks? can anyone relate?

It can be. It doesn't matter what happens during one, it matters that you learn to bring yourself back. Did you try the grounding? Did it help you? The important thing to take home is that you can learn to handle this stuff. Hugs.

I can relate, I had a flashback during a conversation and I wonder how I acted because I'm not very sure... I recall shaking really bad but that's it. I never had the courage to ask as the person who saw me was really freaked out by the whole experience.

YES THIS. I completely lose touch with my body and I cannot ground myself. It’s really embarrassing for me and I never know how I acted but I know I was probably rocking back and forth or otherwise really frozen. I know I hyperventilate sometimes too or people have noticed me doing weird repetitive movements but I don’t know how often.
